Anyone have campsite suggestions along the White or Buffalo river? Thinking maybe late August.
Looking for a spot that's easy to wade the water for fishing near camp. If there is a good shoreline for kids to play on, that's a big plus since I'll likely have a 10 & 12 year old both with me.
If there are trails to hike or drive near camp, that's cool too. (no winch so not willing to do much beyond stock friendly trails while out solo)

In my opinion there are no good places to camp in AR in August unless you have air conditioning which makes it not really camping. A lot of the areas you're going to find on the Buffalo River are going to be either campgrounds or gravel bars.

    https://www.nps.gov/buff/planyourvisit/camping.htm

If you're looking for more isolated camping I'd recommend checking out Illinois Bayou or Richland Creek area. I don't know White River area very well.

Woolum is kinda primitive and has great swimming, Kyles Landing is super scenic, great swimming and has great hiking trails. Further downstream you go the better the water - it's gonna be pretty low in August, not to mention buggy, hot and humid.

Yeah, it'll be tent camping. I survived July in Kentucky in it so Aug in AR should be survivable.

Saw that NPS website listed a couple interesting looking spots. Some primitive with no fee which would be nice.

Kyles Landing, Erbie, or Ozark sites on the Buffalo seem worth checking further into.

    Just thought...
do i need to follow bear country practices or are they not an issue in AR?

We have lots of Black Bear but you won't have any probs with them. I'd be more concerned about a family of hungry raccoons ruining your day. Go check out Boxley Valley, Lost Valley, Hawgsbill Crag...lots to do in Buff River area. Eye of the Needle is a classic hike that starts from Kyles Landing parking area, but it's about 9 miles round trip. Worth seeing tho.

Depending on where you plan to be hogs may be a bigger concern with regard to hostile wildlife. The black bears are pretty skittish unless they're used to getting food from trash cans.

I've had Boxley Valley on my list for a while. Several friends and my dad have said it's great.

Spring creek is primitive and I think free or cheap. Rush is also primitive. Buffalo point is nice and has a huge gravel bar and hiking. All three have nice places to fish or swim. I’m partial to the lower section because that’s where I live. If you want to book a float trip check out Buffalo River Float service. I work there some weekends.

Wonder if you can outfit those with a RTT. And when a guy named Cleetus says it's gettin dicey, you know it's gettin dicey.

    Yeah.
I don't know why, but I love those guys. Those boats come as a kit that you can weld together and put a Jet Ski/Seadoo motor in. Not a fast process, though. Maybe when I retire . . .

When I was selling my Tacoma Fb Marketplace wouldn't let me list it for more than about $6k saying that my $12k asking price was "outside the normal price range for this item." I sold it in about 10 days at my asking price so I think it was more than fairly priced. Over the last few days I've figured out why I was over the "normal price." Listings keep popping up in my feed and at least 75% of the 1st gen Tacomas on Fb Marketplace are OBVIOUS scams. List a truck in "perfect condition with new tires, new plates, no animals" for $600-1200 and say "I never check my chat, just email me at ...." with a lot of them having the same email listed. Marketplace is garbage.

This. And also people will make the listing "free" but then say "message for price" too. Which, maybe that's not a scam, just a jerk move. I sold a Bronco II on marketplace a while back, and the amount of stupid messages I got was astounding.

I took my truck to be serviced yesterday and I’m guessing they left the oil filter wrench in the engine bay. It fell into the fan and broke it and put a hole in the radiator. But I found that in the down in fan shroud at the bottom. Took the skid plates off thinking it was just a hose at first thinking it would be an easy fix and then found that tool.
