That’s good to hear, I’m still looking at new suspension options. I’m pretty sure I learned my lesson about buying cheaper stuff by now. I’ve been leaning towards the Fox 2.5s with DSC adjuster$$$, yikes.
I do like Elka though, my friend runs them on his snowmobiles in North Dakota.

 

I’m gonna work on the yard after lunch today, you know there is only so much I can work from home and it’s Friday…….so ya.

My OME’s served me well and they can be used when the day comes to rebuild mine, but the ride is day and night difference. There is the saying, but once cry once, fox are good shocks. I looked at them back in the day but cheaper out, anyone one shock you choose will be an improvement over what you currently have.

 

Fox, Kings or Elka seem like my best options since I can get them with adjusters and they’re rebuildable.

Anything would be an improvement though, you’re right. I could probably swap in 5100s and be somewhat satisfied.
I still like the Ironman stuff, it’s not crappy or anything, it’s just not the right setup for my truck.

 

I would not move to 5100’s most just get rid of them in the end. Biltstien does have an upper end shock as well hat is now rebuildable; 8100 series if I remember

 

Well I wouldn’t actually do 5100’s, but it probably would be an improvement. I’m planning to do it right this time around so I don’t have to do it again, again.
The front 8112’s are cool. The way the valving works is awesome, it basically does all the DSC type adjustments internally. The rear 8100’s do have external bypass valving.
I think the click knob type adjusters would serve me better though, I just like that manual adjustment I guess.

 

No worries, mine have adjusters and I have not adjusted them since installation it then again I’m not sure I would of bought them that way if I was pricing them out, got a deal so that’s how I got them. Just throwing out options for ya to look at. I’m sure you will come up with what fits ya best, and they will be a great change to your ride.

 

Of course that’s how it’ll end up, I bet I’ll install them and then never touch the adjusters
The cost difference to get the adjusters is pretty minimal though with both Fox and Kings ~350$ extra. I have to do some more research on the Elka lineup.

Finished mowing, fixed the EzUp feet, fuse in the truck, and got on the power washer carb. Naturally, replacement parts aren't the same, but it doesn't leak. Just won't run in run....now that it's hot as me, done and to e pool with more beer.

 

Does look good, could not see chips.
