Thanks! Its been a heckuva project with much more to go! It's a '95 with a shittone of miles, so he needs some work. Tried to sell it, but it appears I'm stuck with it. Adds to the reason I drink...

Nah, just the lowly old Chrysler non-turbo 420A. I haven't put gas in it on months (been a run-about town beater right now), oil on the other hand...

I bought a cheap ball joint puller for my '96 Taco, it worked.

I'll admit that I have bought the sketchy spring compressors from Hazard Fraught a few times, but I throw them away after i'm done with the job. I'm not sure what they use for bolts, but they're soft and the hooks parts look pretty crudely cast.

They're so cheap that I consider the lifespan four springs and in the trash they go.

I'm pretty sure they could be made safer with higher quality nuts and bolts.

My buddy is an engineer at HF, got a 25% off no exclusions coupon from him and went ham. Very happy with the new setup.

harbor fright has engineers working for them? Sorry no offense to your friend. I just assume they had guys that knew how to copy and paste previous patents.

Yes they do, and believe it or not they do a lot more engineering than just copy and paste. Most of their new brands (icon, Quinn, Daytona, earthquake, predator, etc) are tested to higher standards than the big box brands. They also pay close attention to using the proper metals. The owner got sick of being known as the junk tool company many years ago and completely revamped their engineering department. They are slowly working through every item one by one.
