Thats awesome if it is. I didnt bring up the weights because it would bug me if the extrusion wasnt local. I wasnt planning on licking it. Well, maybe once after the install....

Been eyeing the expedition essentials maxtrax holder. But holy crap, not aure i want to spend 350 bucks. I plan on mounting them to one of the side doors. Any of you with the camper already have other ideas?

There are less expensive ways, but @nudavinci64 loves his mount.

You could mount to a roof rack attached to your truck cab or on the roof of the SuperPacific with load bars/cross bars.

Still a sour subject when i bring it up with my wife lol.:anonymous:

Yah it’s def not needed. But it’s slick mount and I put off buying it before. It went all in in an impulse buy before our last Baja trip

it’s def a well built setup. I could have mounted slightly higher it just missed the key hole. I did use some 1/2” if I recall maybe 3/4” plastic washers to angle the bottom. Thai makes it so you can still open the door. whether you use this mount or not you will need new gas struts. I have 100lb ones on now. Up from 45lbers. I may go up to 120lb. It opens fine but would like some extra pop on the open.

I had one fail on my trip in Baja. Funny enough I hacked one up A brace down there. Happen to have a drill and extra t slots. Found a commercial shop with flat steel. I will say in heavy winds the tends moves a lot. The brace is needed for this alone but can serve as a backup for any reason. Now it’s sits on the side. Sent a note that it would be good to build in some ring like this when needed. The SP folks were quick to send replacements.
