not much really. They could fall, but i would say the odds of that are less than rock climbing. The hand holds are plentiful, and often designed for human use. As for electrocution, it's not going to happen unless they try. The tower they're on is more conductive than their bodies and if the wires aren't shorting against it, they're not gonna get hit. And since the towers are solid and made of metal they're not going to damage anything when they do fall. I say let em do it, coyotes and vultures gotta eat too.

 

The person who posted this on the web and the law enforcement types really need a course in electrical theory.

Fear and ignorance are powerful tools for manipulating the opinions and behaviors of others. Especially when coupled with the general lack of critical-thinking among the populace, as well as the tendency of people not to read past the headline/soundbite.

yup. and such details show why you can’t necessarily just go from the title or abstract of a study.

The actual methodology can make a huge difference in how applicable the results are to the real world.

… which was kinda the point the authors were making with that study.

It’s a good tidbit to remember in today’s world where so much stuff is unnecessarily politicized and folks will grab whatever study seems to support their “side” and so many of their audience never digs past the headline to see if the methodology is really relevant.

I’ve seen examples on both sides of the political divide so please don’t take this as anything other than encouragement for folks to dig into sources and don’t just take stuff at face value. Cuz it seems everyone has an agenda today.
