    @crazyfingers,

    Much appreciated.

    Another great example of why we on TW are a community.

    @crazyfingers do you, or any other Baltimore/Annapolis area peeps, want to go out for a drink tonight? Or, coffee tomm. morning? It is a slow weekend and I am always ready to meet new taco peeps and for taco talk.

    Great questions. Unfortunately didn't get the impression the third member was pulled. They did take a stethoscope to it though, for all that's worth. My hesitation with the good boys at the dealership comes from the somewhat non-conclusive diagnosis hence my noting the quoted amount to "begin to resolve ..." the issue.

    Thanks for the information on the pre-assembled unit. Great first step for me, price wise.

    Now to see what installation involves...

    Thinking about going to this. I know a bunch of people there from the Hilux group. It’s a bit of a hike but like you said it’s a slow weekend and I have nothing to do. Plus I just found out I have to work tomorrow for a few hours. So no trail therapy for me.

    If Toyota brings their solid axle diesel trucks here to the states I'll finally buy a new truck. TRD Pro 4runners/Tacomas with a solid axle and a diesel option wouldve been bad ass. Imo Toyota should've made the FJ Cruiser with a solid axle and removable top to compete with the Wrangler.

    Anybody in Maryland know of an front-end / 4-wheel alignment shop that knows Tacoma's and is an expert aligning our trucks when the factory alignment no longer does the trick?

    I have a 2014 Sport DCSB 4X4 and it is my daily driver. I don't off-road for sport but I have a numbers of hobbies that keep me out of trouble and take me off-road. My truck is mostly stock but I do run ICONs Stage-2 front and rear setup with 265/70-18 wheels and tires.

    My wife mostly drives her SUV but used to like to drive the Tacoma. Ever since I stepped up from 265/65-18 tires to the 265/70-18 tires my wife tells me she isn't strong enough to drive it anymore. She thinks the steering is now very touchy and she feels like she has to make constant sdjustments to go straight. She also thinks it takes more effort in her arms and shoulders to make these adjustments. I can't say I notice any difference.

    I want my wife to feel comfortable driving my truck when she needs to drive it. I know the new tires are 1" taller because of the larger sidewall. The dealer did my last alignment and told me he stayed with the factory settings.

    Take it to Extra Mile Performance over in Severn Maryland. Jeremy will get you straight as an arrow. All they work on is Toyota off-road vehicles. Jeremy and his crew are the Toyota Jedi’s in Maryland. Tell him Chuck with the GoFastCamper sent you.
