Slapped on the mid height truss rack today. Threw me off a little when I opened the box, didn't expect to receive the V2 rack but it's definitely growing on me! Very pleased with the outcome!

I may have missed it throughout the thread - but has anyone figured out a good way to secure your UpTop Retrax TRUSS Rack from theft while still leaving it possible to remove the rack yourself if necessary? It seems to me right now using a thread fastener is the only way to go but maybe someone has thought of something else. Any ideas? Thanks

    ...too much shit to list.
I know reading comprehension is hard, but he didn’t call anyone an asshole. Feel free to review it in your time off away from this thread as well.

    Back to upTOP racks.

On a lighter note, what's everybody's favorite part of their upTOP rack?

Okay so I have a dumb question on the Alpha (I know 1.5 years later) but the longer spacers for the mounts were for the front correct?

The options available and the look of the truck with it on. I took mine off this week and damn does the truck look different. Don't worry it will be back on soon, just needed to do some things to the roof.

I like how stout it is. Grabbing on to the handles to get up to the top of the truck and there is no give in the thing. I feel confident with it.

The fact that I can bolt whatever I can try to imagine to it. Also the fact that I have to shave down one of the bars to get my antenna to lay flat, lol.
Wait, did someone nab your handles???

ordered handles on a Saturday and they shipped out Weds.
that’s pretty good considering all the supply chain and manufacturing issues American companies have had the last year.
    Thanks guys!

So, I recognize this is a basic question but I don't see many pictures of these racks carrying bikes. Is there an easy bolt on bike adapter? What are people using?

I'm looking for a cab and canopy rack that can handle (at alternate times): bikes, being a hammock anchor point, dry boxes for camp goods, plywood sheets. This seems like the jam. Any of those things seem unreasonable?

I haven't put a bike up there because I am afraid I would be over height limits for bridges and stuff here, but that's me in the city. You could probably put a yakima bike rack up there no problem.

Yes, doing all those is reasonable. Bikes can go on a bike rack no problem, hammock anchor on the handles is good too. Dry box mounting is good, either by bolting through the box or using straps to hold it down. Plywood sheets works well too, I've hauled a good stack of 2x4x12 at one point no problem.

FYI, if you are worried about it from a weight perspective, dont. When I was installing my rifle case, and Waterport, I temporarily climbed up on it a bit, to screw in one of the mounting screws, and the rack barely flexed at all. I didn't go up there and jump on it, but for the few seconds i leaned up on the rack, it held up perfectly. Putting a few bikes up there (with proper mounts), should not be a problem at all.
