Up at 5:30. Can’t even make it to an alarm anymore. Golfing with my nephew @8, then fixing my daughter’s dishwasher. Should be interesting, my younger daughter’s bachelorette party is going on this weekend at the house. I’m going to get in, do the work in the garage and get out without getting in the way.

Depends on the truck. Most dodge back windows are rip outs. Literally have to rip them out. Most fords are bolt ins. And chevy/GMC aren't that bad. They become more time consuming when they are power sliders cuz some models you have to take out the back seats. But just like anything just take your time and it will be just fine.

I spent the morning at the local nuclear power plant. My daughter in-law works there and today was family day. They had some interesting events and the kids enjoyed themselves too. Here's my grandson in front of one of the cooling towers. He's got that early 1970s hair style going.

We did a tour of the simulator room and there was a very knowledgeable man given technical specs, but he had to speak quickly, as each tour was only 30 minutes, so I did not assimilate much of what he said. The control room was impressive. They had more fun, experimental things for kids, like suiting up in the gear they wear, shooting a laser rifle to hit a target, going up in bucket like an electric lineman, etc. They also had a magician and a dunk tank - and food. Here are a few pictures from 2019, the last time they did it. My grandson looks so much younger here, LOL. When we were on vacation a few weeks ago somebody called him a "man child" because he was able to buy the kid's ticket for the Niagara Falls tours. LOL.

! That is almost $50/gallon -- suddenly top tier premium fuel seems reasonable... damn...

Started yesterday when I gj it home prepping and painting my new sliders. Wanted to try to match my gunmetal scs wheels, so I grabbed a few cans of Rust-Oleum Soft Iron metallic paint. Came out pretty good. Could have spend more time on prep, but I was too excited to get them on.IMG_20210731_085856.jpg

Then I took advantage of the beautiful weather today and recruited the help of my buddy to get them mounted. A couple of beers and a few hours and we had it done. Really happy with how they turned out. IMG_20210731_171902.jpg

Went down to a friends house this morning and helped with prepping for some siding on her house. It's kind of a hodge-podge kinda built house. The old cinder block was looking pretty sad and the easiest way is to cover it up in vinyl siding.

    What we kinda started with:

    Couple hours later:

Alot of bad stuff we had to cover up, but it is what it is  Need to order some more siding, but D4 Dutch Lap is getting hard to find now-adays. Might have to just go with D5. Doesn't matter a whole lot as it's not butting up against anything. I personally would have went with cement ship lap type siding, but I'm not the one paying for materials. I'm going to re-do the J-channel by the air conditioner as well; I like to 45° my corners. Still need to do something with that window for the kitchen. I'll probably have to bring my table saw and rip down some 1x's to clean it up a little bit. Next is repairing the rotting overhang trim...
