    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Ya, we normally meet up in Oakdale for the Valley people and those coming from the Bay Area... then we meet up in Sonora for those that live up the hill.

Everything on this trip is relatively easy. Mostly just fire roads. We will be jumping on and off paved asphalt for the first (about) 1/3 of the trip. (after we leave Toualumne).

There wont be anything a stock height Tacoma can't do. And when we're in a group, we make a go around if someone isn't comfortable with where we're at.

3N21 across the Clavey is the only spot on this trip I would anticipate needing a go around for anyone. It's a water crossing, but I think the Clavey is low enough the water wont cause a problem, but the channel is kind of deep, so it need some traction to get through. 3N21 back up to the (more) main road 3N26 is also pretty steep and rocky, but it's still just a fire road.

@Drtgrl could probably give us best intel on status of the Clavey. But I think she and Steve already headed up to Eagle.

Strawberry Pass trail run (late notice).

I am going to run Strawberry Pass tomorrow (8/1) from Hwy 50 (near Strawberry Market) to Hwy 88 (near Caples Lake). With this late notice, I don't think there will be too many rigs, but please let me know if you are planning to come.

From the Roseville area it takes about 1.5 hours to get to Strawberry Market and 2 hours to get back from Caples Lake. The trail takes about 3 hours. If you like to tow your rig, getting home is almost as fast if you go east from Caples Lake to 89 and come back west on 50. Obviously, if it isn't highway legal, you can just run the trail in reverse.

You don't need a rock crawler though, the trail is a moderate to hard trail depending on your rig. I haven't run it, but have heard 33" tires and a moderate lift are needed, stock rigs will scrape the underside a lot. Lockers are not needed. https://youtu.be/Z6ndCde6aqo

The plan is to meet at Strawberry Market at 11:00, have lunch at the top of the trail, and break up at Caples Lake. Reach out with any questions.

Water on the Clavey is as low as it’ll get for the season. I drove over the cottonwood road bridge yesterday afternoon.

There was pretty good cloud coverage and if they produce any rain it might bump flows up a little.
