Morning fellas. Confirmed yesterday I have low compression in cylinder #5 due to a leaking exhaust valve. Any reputable machine shops you guys suggest in the HSV area?

I’ve enjoyed working on it for the most part, but I’m ready to wrap this specific project up and get back in my truck haha

I’ve been looking at the new camburg kit. Was talking to the engineer who also works with JD fab on projects. Said the camburg kit can get 13 inches of travel with standard extended travel coils. Not sure how that’s possible lol. Anyways it’s like 4 grand vs 8 for JD kit lol. But sadly my money is tied up in this wedding

I’m curious to see how they do it, too. Honestly, the coil overs aren’t a huge expense compared to the other things needed. I only spent $250 for the new Fox’s after I sold my Kings. You’d need something like the 934s to pull that much travel out of the CVs, still need spindle and UCA gussets. The JD kit is pretty competitively priced when you add it all up.

Well we are finally officially moving in 2 weeks. We scored a killer deal through a friend. Moving to Pensacola beach, FL. We have the place till March, which hopefully we can find a house by the end of the lease. My mind is blown this is home for the next 8 months. The kids are crazy excited and the schools are awesome. We are moving into a condo at Portifino resort on Pensacola beach. Im still gonna work in Mobile tho

JDs kit isn't 8 grand. The basic kit like all the rest is pretty much the same cost as everyone else. I call bunk on those travel #s. Camburg and TC takes a lot of work to get those travel #s with 8" COs. Once you get all the other components to really beef things up it ends up being the same cost. I'd call Harry, Jesse, or Dave and talk to them and see how much of that is actually true. Most of what comes out of that shop is one off things not sure how much they actually work with them. Sounds like a sales engineer to me. Another thing to look at is GC all the others besides MC gives up GC compared to JD

Not sure the engineer who auctilually designs the kits said 11 plus and then when I talked with camburg directly they said 13. Don’t think they’ve hard tested kit though…. Idk I was going off what clay said he spent. I don’t have money to spend anyways right now so it’s not like I’m going to auctially gonna buy anything. Just stating what was told to me

I spent right at 10k front and rear before selling any of the old stuff and including random tools/bolts etc. This pic breaks it down as to what was JD. I don’t think he’s doing the OEM bushing LT kits so add $400 to that.
