Nice! you made it to the glacier. How were the mosquitoes?

 

At the campsite they were awful. Zero at the glacier though.

 

Yeah I bet. I remember walking along the lake they were pretty awful too.

It's too bad this road is all sorts of washed out and you can't get to the end.



But I did hike up it a ways to get the view.



And playing touron today. I feel very out of place.

 

Playing Touron every now and then is fun. Be sure to check out Lamar Valley really early in the morning, like when the sun rises, if you get a chance. I was there at this time last year. Getting up that early sucked, but we saw several wolves, a moose and her calf, plus all the other standard Yellowstone wildlife. Not too many people out that early either.

 

Killer. What’s going on here?

 

Center pin of my leaf spring sheared and rear axle slid back. Was interesting to figure that out as we couldn't drop the axle because the leaf springs would come apart.

Didn't make it home. Had to eventually ditch the truck and then came back the next day with new bigger U bolts.

 

It would take a lot more than some park wildlife to convince me to wake up that early. I did give in and pay for my first campsite of the trip on night #46. Got lucky and was able to get one in the park pretty late.

Damn smoke ruining my views yet again. This view of paradise Valley would be incredible otherwise.

 

More playing tourist. More smoke, but it does make for some interesting pics.

 

I'm sure the smoke is crazy out there. It's been hazy down here in Alabama from the fires, and I'm like 2k miles away.

Nice pics though, the sun coming through the smoke is pretty neat looking.

Whitefish bike park is pretty rad.

 

And need to start working my way south. Heading for ya @Night Eagle

I've spent way more time in MT than planned, but zero complaints. Plus my travels haven't been nearly as expensive as I had anticipated, so trip may get extended longer than 3 months.
