I got these 2nd hand for a pretty good price.

I can see the powder coat being an issue. Welds look good. I used them to push off a tree today. Didn’t see any issues.

Nothing too exciting, I checked my power steering fluid and belt tension to try and figure out why I get some squealing turning into my folks’ driveway.

(and I got to find out the dealer who “assigned the right tech to this” left my airbox unlatched  after my 10k service and having my rotors resurfaced [already!] o_O)

Went to clean up the trans lines today. Front skid plate bolts snapped and a 20 minute project turned into 3 hours of bolt extracting.

Yes. Rust belt on steroids must be this new brine formula they’re using. Didn’t see this type of rust 10 years ago when the roads were littered with rock salt.

Installed a 4xinnovations rear bumper and tire carrier today. Beyond impressed by the build quality of this, as well as the great customer service.

I’m borderline anal about keeping the salt off my cars. But this rust wasn’t my doing. It was the PO. But I don’t think it was just them. This is the only Toyota/Lexus vehicle from the past decade that I’ve seen rot like this. Something ain’t right because my buddy’s 08 Camry has less rust. And his was rarely ever washed more than 2x a year.

something ain’t right with the rust proofing on this truck.

Cerakoted and installed a Gibson exhaust, looks and sounds pretty sharp considering it's a V6. We'll have to see about any drone from within the cab on the highway.

Also discovered that an airbrush is not the ideal tool to use for Cerakoting an exhaust, even if it worked really well on an AR-15 in the past.

Yes it is, I got the slimline bumper before they made the full bumper. I would go with the full, much cleaner look.

Looks like a cheap factory bolt and of course major rust and corrosion at play here. My advice - replace all rusted bolts, screws, brackets with American made Stainless Steel. I did this on day #1 on everything under my 2020 Tacoma truck. Sure its a pain in the ass. Yes - it's expensive to do this.

For those cheap Toyota brackets - there are lots of machine shops that will re-make a bracket for you in Stainless Steel. Either that or get another and have it powder coated (cheaper option).

Like you - I hate having a bolt rust out like this - and I did this to a lot of my bolts on my Harley as well.

I've a few places I buy my stainless steel bolts from:
    Nickel Systems: https://www.nickel-systems.com/
    AALL AMERICAN Fasteners: https://www.aallamericanfasteners.com/index.php
    Portland Bolt: https://www.portlandbolt.com/

    Good luck!

I had heard they had some kind of package for two additional omni-directional ports in the rear, but I didn't like how it looked. So I did it myself with the parts that I thought would look *better*. I moved the Media port from the dash to the center console and put in the CPlay2Air so I can have wireless carplay. Works great. I also have a 12v charge port so I can plug in my USB-C Apple Mag charger. So far no issues and I love how it looks.
