I have an 2016 Trd sport 4x4 3.5 Auto with 95,000 k or 60,000 miles. Im getting a lean bank code and the dealership couldn’t find the cause. They did charge me for finding nothing but still can’t find the cause.

Is this a 2006 or 2016? If it is a 2006, then the 2nd gen forum will be the place to ask first.

Seems fuel related, the low pressure pump might be failing.

Shit diag from a dealer if they charged without finding anything.

had the P0171 on a 06 corolla, was the intake manifold gasket.

Honestly this code could be a number of things, essentially... Just gonna try them and see what fixes it.

Maybe someone else has had code and can point you in a direction.

    Here's a good breakdown. --> https://www.samarins.com/diagnose/p0171.html

Seems like those 6 other codes might help diagnose what needs to be done next. Also at 60k your fuel system should be at or near warranty

i assume maintenance kept up & on schedule

U dont mention issues / symptons

thats a fanncy gadget yet codes dont always tell the story

indefinite stance allows dealer to pull 1 out o his butt.......................its multiple guess

Both Long and Short Term Fuel Trim are way off.
Your injectors are trying to compensate by adding fuel across the RPM spectrum. Check your air intake tract for vacuum leaks and clean your MAF sensor. Was the air filter replaced recently? Any loose vacuum lines/electrical connectors anywhere on the engine?

    How's the driveability?

I'm thinking that since there are NO misfire codes it's running ok. If there was one bad injector then you'd have a misfire code...

Don't throw parts at it until you check for an obvious vacuum leak/problem within the intake tract.

    Good Luck!

I never understood fuel trims. What's the rough synopsis, they're supposed to cancel out and = close to 0?

Fuel Trim explained in a few words...

Long Term Fuel trim: air/Fuel mixture composition over time, e.g. week or month.

Short Term Fuel trim: short time window, say 1 or 2 days.

Positive value: Fuel being added by Fuel system (injectors). >>> vehicle running Lean.
Negative value: Fuel being subtracted by Fuel system. >>> vehicle running Rich.

And YES, the values on a proper running vehicle are close to 0%.

That ^^^^^ and test A/F Sensors and wires/circuits
Use an unlit propane torch pointed on vacuum hoses with engine idling to locate vacuum leaks.
The RPMs will rise if you have a leak.
Rubber doesn't last forever and thickwall Silicone hose kits are cheap.
