Canadian Tacoma taller than their American Counterparts?

Canadian trucks come with the TSB 4 leaf pack standard. Guess Toyota figured out we use them as..gasp..trucks !

 

our trucks in Canada come with the 4 leaf spring from the factory. so it starts out like the us trucks after the tsb.

 

Dunno about that, but even the Canadian trucks don't come with the 6500lb capacity towing package until you add TRD.

 

uhh my dad has a prerunner double cab long bed with the tow package and it's only a SR5...

...got to admit, I forgot the Prerunner even existed..I don't think very many of them are sold up here.

 

No prerunner ( ie fake 4x4 ) in Canada .

For info/comparison,my 2009 base model 4x4 access cab came from the factory with 5000 lb towing capacity. That wasn't an option, it just came that way.

 

Which means you don't have the towing package.

I bought my truck new from the US, and it only had 3 leafs.
I brought it to my local dealer and even though at the time there was no TSB for the 4 leafs (no need in Canada), I was able to piont out that all the trucks on the lot had 4 leafs and mine didn't. The dealer agreed and replaced them under warranty.

According to an e-mail I got from
Toyota Canada, all Canadian specification trucks and vans come with the tow package, and have factory installed heavy duty alternator, starter, battery and transmission cooler.

I had the dealership install a hitch and 4 pin harness. I put a 7 pin on myself.

Does the TRD OR come with 7 pin connector? And how does it get the extra 1500 lb of towing capacity?

 

My 4x4 SR5 has the tow package.

 

What's the towing capacity? 5000 or 6500 lb?

 

How was the AAL too big?

 

The extra 1500 lbs of towing capacity comes from the increased ability of the drivetrain to keep itself cool with the addition of the tranny/oil cooler. The 7 pin connector and pre-wiring for a brake controller add the rest.

 

I don't know - doesn't say on the sticker anywhere. Manual says 6500 w/tow package, so I assume 6500. I have a Class IV hitch, transmission/oil coolers, 130A alternator, heavy-duty battery and 7-pin connector. You tell me!

Actually , I'd suggest you guys have to go through more bullshit . I mean , you have to go and ask the dealer to add suspension parts we get stock.

 

My 2006 Trd which I just trader and was a Canadian truck only had 3 leafs on the back.
