it’s tough seeing your family make bad choices. I’ve learned to be there when they want to change and do all you can. But trying to change them first is a never ending nightmare and will never get you anywhere.

Hopefully everyone can keep themselves going somewhat straight.

DAMN. That's some heavy beers. I typically drink Gansetts as my heaviest they're like 5%. Although there is a good one from Alagash that's like 11% and I thought that was a lot.

I have zero draw toward sodas anymore, so I count myself lucky there. I am overweight not because of sugar, it's that I eat a lot of the good stuff. Ribs, pasta, etc. I can be done with sweets overnight and not care.

There's some nature vs. nurture. My old man wasn't sober for more than a week from the age of 13 until he kicked it. I didn't even touch it until I was 21, had a little college spike (not nearly that some do, but still that was my "heaviest" drinking time, even though it wasn't much). I think it's more 50-50. I think you have it in you from the get go, I'm sure as hell aware of it, but that might be the nurture - I haven't fueled it since I was young, I was aware of the effects early on, etc etc.

I'm not a big drinker at all either but Pete's was my favorite beer. The best ever was a seasonal beer called Pete's wicked winter brew! BTW captain and ginger just happens to be my favorite mixed drink. Tastes like birch beer soda.

My man:thumbsup:, I do remember it and strawberry blonde. I always called Capt n ginger cream soda but yes so sweet it could be dangerous.

I'm more of a jmo and ginger kinda guy but I appreciate capt and ginger. I don't tend to gravitate towards liquor these days though

There are those who say it's a learn from seeing, and those who opine genetics..or both..or neither. Not really sure. Both of my birth parents had history of heavy alcohol use even as young people..but my parents barely touch a drink. I have an addictive personality as well

Depends how many people, the Atlas isn't so bad but IDK if fitting the whole family would be better with the Tahoe

When I went to Florida, I got a Jetta for a rental. I drove it from Tampa to Miami and back. Decently comfortable and only used a little over a tank of gas.

Well it's for 7 people and the longest drive will be from the Clearwater/St. Pete area to Orlando (about 2.5 hrs). Honestly though 3 of them are kids so I don't really care if they're squished in out back.
