just broke down

not sure whats up, called Toyota care but a truck is hours out.

it just died in the middle of the highway, got i over to the shoulder barely.

dash center screen say, oil, trans temps high. it will start, rev to about 2k then shutdown immediately and display the same messages.

any ideas to get me going???

Sounds like the truck went into limp mode to protect itself. It may be your crank position sensor (CPS) as that was an issue on some 2016s.

not towing, never tow
all fluids that can be checked look good level wise, nothing leaking that I can see

of course it is! its THE ONE 3rd gen issue I haven't had.

yeah man! I literally have had evey issue the 3rd gens have had.

they gave me a 125k/8yr platinum after the 3rd brake light leak.

I vote for CPS failure. Good news is it's a quick fix. Better news is you have learned to never buy a first model year vehicle haha.
