Access Bed/Roof Racks, Overland etc.... Flame me.

3rd Gen Access Cab 4 Cyl 4x4 Manual Trans.

I'm looking for a Bed rack that will support tonneau cover and to run a tent for overland camping. Rather the higher rack for rear view whilst driving. My wife and I are tall, 6'4" so need room.

Is there a combination that would utilize a bed and roof rack?

Welcome. I remember scrolling thru a website that makes them back then. Don’t remember the company at the moment. Only problem is, they claim that you can’t use the tonneau cover while having the rack on. Good luck searching.

 

Anyone running an RCI bed rack? 18 vs 12 inches? They have adapters to run tonneau, I haven't seen any others compatible

 

The adapters raise the rack by 3" curious if anyone is running this rig

 

KB Voodoo makes a rack and tonneau brackets. The brackets raise everything about 2 inches. I've used the OEM tri-fold cover and the Bakflip Revolver 4. I like the Bakflip better because I can roll it up while the rack is still on and access 95% of my bed instead of having to crawl under the cover. I've got the 10" rack.

 

how's the bakflip on keeping water out while driving through storms? my truck came with a gator tonneau and it fails there

I've never noticed an issue. But I live in the desert, ha. I looked a few times after going through the car wash and the bed looked dry to me.

 

The gasket that BakFlip supplies is pretty good. It conforms around the thickness of our tonneau brackets fairly well.
