I was always a fan iOf rain-X and found that those who didn’t like it weren’t properly buffing it off completely. I have recently stopped using it and started using turtle wax hybrid solutions ceramic spray coating. It works just as good but doesn’t last as long. However it is much easier to apply and remove and I just do it every time I do the paint.

I also use this product on the paint and plastic trim for ease instead of the meguiar’s paint coating followed with gold class liquid wax.

Clean sensor error. It caused the collision avoidance system including adaptive cruise control to shut down.

The last time I went with an aftermarket Pro grille, I used the OEM sensor cover and never had an issue. This time I used the aftermarket garnish, and although it fit well, I think it’s the reason for the error.

Applied a couple coats of this today. My 2012 DCSB was garage kept but the headlights started fading after about 6 years.
Hoping to make theses last longer.

I knew about that setting lol. I just haven’t got a chance to play with the new HU. Work is getting in the way right now. Been really busy and now won’t see my truck until Thursday morning. Can’t wait for next weekend, (four days off) so I can play with my newly installed toy.

Not a great deal of work, but kind of a pain in the ass.

Doing prep work for the incoming RLD canopy.

Chasing down potential dust and water infiltration points and sealing them up.

Sealed under bed rail caps, bed transition under the accessory rails, tailgate cap, front bed rail, and front corners.

Next up cubby and tailgate dust and waterproofing and running wiring harness for the canopy for following roof rack and interior mounted accessories:

    - 4x BD S2 Sports (side area work scene, 2 ea. side)
    - 2x BD S2 Pro (rear area work scene)
    - 3x BD Rock Lights and magnetic door switches and relay (interior canopy lights)
    - 3x BD Push button Rock Lights (Door area camp lights).
    - 12v convenience outlet and USB ports.

Looks great. Did you just use black silicone with masking tape around the front corners? Much cleaner than the butyl tape I smashed down into mine (which has been melting and dripping down onto my driveway over the past couple of weeks)

Yes, black silicone and masking tape, then tool the top edge at front rail with a flat edge, or slight damp finger the concave edges. Tape off, apply silicone, tool, make sure I've got a clean joint, pull the tape, and done. Also used foam "backer rod" in the gap at the front rail, under the openings at the bottom corners of the bed, and at the front upper corners of the bed before I applied sealants.

Doesn't quite look like it there, but I did pull the front rail caps, silicone under the caps, then re-inserted the rail caps. May have to hit them with a smidge of sealant just to be sure as there is the tiniest of gaps there. With all the odd openings to the bed though, that little minute gap will be the least of my worries.

Not sure I can achieve it, but goal is to have a nearly completely dust free bed without needing to use the positive pressure vent on the RLD canopy. That could be a pain during summer monsoons, opening and closing that vent continually as conditions dictate. Can't see how that vent won't allow ridiculous amounts of water into the bed during rains. Going to water and dust proof anything I can possibly find and hope for the best. If I still need to use the positive pressure vent on longer dusty runs, so be it.
