Checked in the 02. Pops showed up. Tundra in the background… so 2 of the double cabs are together in this photo.

drove it through the field. The brakes are not happy. But hey, 4x4 works and the locker decided to work

Enough to put connectors on it. the fuse box is pretty recessed. i wouldn't put any larger switches in that location though.

Isn't it the regular cab drive shaft that won't work because it is shorter overall... The Double Cab and Extended Cab are the same.

From the carrier bearing to the diff should be the same. Not sure if a regular cab has a CB. I can't remember what mine came off of but it was different than what my truck is and the rear portion fit.

This is more of a thing I've done to my 1st Gen Tacoma.... parts.

I recently did an axle seal job and found the uh... "quality" work done by a NY shop in order to get my Tacoma to pass state inspection a couple year back. They managed to mangle the ABS tone ring, chipped the axle where the retainer sits, and dented the crap out of the bearing housing. I guess I know why the axle was leaking though:

    upload_2021-8-2_15-32-5.jpg
I have since replaced all the parts and I was trying to up-cylce them into something useful. My girlfriend likes to entertain and has been "encouraging" me to make her a lazy susan for on about a year. Had to put my own spin on it. Using the now junk bearing, axle, retainer, and housing, plus a few other parts in the junk bin I was able to pull this off:

    upload_2021-8-2_15-32-30.jpg
    Lazy Susan Mechanism.

    upload_2021-8-2_15-32-45.jpg
Finished product. Wood came from an old restaurant table top. You can see a couple of the dents on the housing, likely from an ape smashing the housing with a ball peen. The hidden side in the photo is much worse.

Overall it turned out well. Has to be one of the most solid lazy susans around. Almost like it was meant to support a vehicle.

Regular cab’s do not have a carrier bearing…..I just snapped this picture of mine

I think the RC drive shaft length is about 103 inches to the rear differential

Lots of dust and custom dents, Check Build
Correct. All the same for the back portion.

It's the front portion that changes depending on engine/trans.

Hopefully I don't have too bad of vibrations mixing my shortened front section of the DS with the rear section from another truck :fingerscrossed:

    Per new alignment shop:

Alignments in spec, changed nothing, drive and see what it does, maybe it was the tires.

If they start to wear funny, come back and we’ll mess with the toe.

The tires I put on the front could by chance be the same tires I had on the front of the 99, which were wearing bad.

So I put a line of spray paint across both tires as a make shift chalk test
