    Bye bye stupid accumulator.

Shout out to @Norilsk for recommending Sumin Auto in Toronto. Naz did a wicked job with the removal of that thing and replacing with a hardline. Shifting in the MT has much, much improved.
Highly recommend the ADM for anyone with the 6MT.

Did he make the hard line or did you need to source it yourself?

Is this a Third gen thing? Or will 1st and 2nds benefit too?

This might be a stupid question, but if you have the truck serviced at the dealer, do they ever replace the diff and/or transmission oil?
I understand that some want to do this themselves, especially when you are using the truck offroad, but I was wondering if this is also part of the regular dealer service items ?

They aren't part of regular scheduled service, but the dealer will typically be happy to upsell them to you for a few brown bills.

Did they change the transmission service intervals on the third gen? Is it lifetime fluid?

Assuming diff and tcase is on 60k or 120k intervals?

Put the HST on the picture below and we’re talking about 5 brown bills !!!

The service was dealer performed on our 2013 Toyota tundra A few weeks ago…I had to request the service for our truck at work.

Truck is severe duty off-road all the time (with multiple unexperienced drivers) so I wanted fluids changed out. Probably just the same costs for a Tacoma However required amounts of gear oil may be less with a smaller drive train.

    Transmission was not touched.

Dealerships sure make top dollar on these types of jobs.

Fuck yeah. It's diff lube, nothing special is really needed. Hell, it's the only spot where I would think that dino lube might still work, but gallon (4l) jugs of M1 synthetic are reasonable enough.

Spend the money on the engine, transmission, and T case.

Yeah i just learned that. The truck doesnt feel bogged down by the old motomaster fluid after i made the switch to red line a few days ago.

This also detered me away from using the cheap stuff...

Interesting! Redline is good stuff. Folks swear by their ShockProof lubes.

Save that. You got some organic, homemade anti-seize. Hahaha!

Going by the 2021 US booklet, transmission fluid is replaced every 96k if you tow or do a lot of idling or low-speed driving. Diffs and T-case oils are replaced every 48k if you tow or drive on dirt roads. For "light duty" use, the booklet calls for all the fluids to be inspected every 48k and replaced on condition (yeah right).

Weirdly enough the Canadian booklet nowadays has warranty info but no maintenance schedule. Instead you have to enter your vehicle info in an online form to get a customized chart.

    Am I overlanding yet? :mudding:

My girlfriend is getting the hang of flying the drone while I drive the truck. Of course the bumpy trails don't help so I think she's doing alright.

Last two shots are part of a trail my grandfather told me about. A 1km trail that saved me about 12km of driving.

Some day I'll upload the actual footage:turtleride:

Did the biennial rear brake service to clean out dirt and debris from two and half wheeling seasons. However, most of my time was spent wire brushing residue from the sodding paper gasket Toyota puts on the wheel hub

    jUlGZnI6VMJQcDSgRa2j3iYIvjQoxyXy1p9-4ZiX_15b3fd7b685a8461c1807c52c3bd7709ba8f8d9d.jpg fL6b7P82uvTkoVCzh8JFIfEk5c7SHtKw67vCeqnh_59ee5a6d559b19d85a6534f19b8c6a600b5c245a.jpg

Took the opportunity to upgrade to Wagner drums P/N BD126322E. Unlike OEM drums, these are fully E-coated and machined to achieve balance without weld-on weights. I used Centric P/N 118.44035 drum brake hardware kit.
