For a 17 year old vehicle with 205,000 miles. If you're mechanically inclined, inspect the vehicle and pick it apart with the owner right there and hmmm and haw about how much it would cost you to make it worth 7k and then offer maybe 4k and see what happens. That's my 2 cents.

 

I have been through an actual professional negotiating course with certification, I dealt with EPA, various state environmental agencies and recognized Indian tribes.

 

They are I've come close to tell them 'yall lucky I got bills and like expensive things' lol

Yeah I agree, that's a bit too rough around the edges for 7000$.

 

I was thinking $4,300 max, but gotta check fluids and search for obvious leaks, exhust leaks, worn steering and suspension components etc.

 

I had to replace all my steering and suspension and I still paid almost twice that for my truck

True. And if it's still possible @gettym , you can run the VIN through CarFax, and the Toyota website (pretend you own it - I doubt it's already registered). You can pull 90%+ of all the likely service between the two, assuming a work truck was taken to a shop, not a driveway.

 

Doesn't look like I'm helping who ever with a lift installation this Saturday.
