Converting CH4x4 dual switch from double maintain/momentary to half momentary, half maintained

    Hey y'all,

    If it's not clear from the title, let me explain further! So CH4x4 has these sweet new double switch push switches in their store

    The great thing about them is that you save space when installing switches. The only issue is that they're all either both momentary or both maintained (on/off). So for example, if someone wanted to have a switch handle both the stock rear eLocker (which is a stock momentary switch) and a new front air locker (which is a maintained switch) you're kinda SOL.

    I got my hands on one of the switches and was able to get some shots of the internals:

    What I'm thinking is changing out one of the momentary mechanisms for a maintained mechanism so I can have both. It's not practical, and just using a separate switch for the front locker would be way easier, but that's 1/2 the fun isn't it?

    Anyways, any thoughts on converting a momentary to maintained? I've tested it out on a spare switch and was able to remove solder/resolder the mechanism in just fine -- I'm just thinking it can't be quite as easy as removing one and replacing it with the other due to the PCB.

    The rear locker is maintained in all the trucks I’ve ever so I don’t know why you would have to.

    I think you could solder in the maintained switch into the momentary housing assuming the circuit layouts were the same. You maybe also be able to modify the latching mechanism in the maintained to suit your needs.

    Bottom side of that pcb looks like it was soldered by a 3 year old. Any part numbers?

    On 3rd gens the locker is momentary unfortunately. But yeah, if the circuit layouts are the same wouldn't be a huge deal to remove the latch and put in a momentary one

    Toyota seems to be getting more involved with the one shots rather than the relay and switch combos. I'm sure they've got their reasons, to be honest the locker circuits haven't changed over the last 20 years, maybe they changed the switch and hopefully the actuator to be more reliable.
