Where to relocate rear license plate for hitch bike rack

    I’m curious to see what others do so their license plate isn’t hidden by their bike rack or hitch accessories. I live in the city so I’d like to leave the rack in without having to worry about tickets or getting pulled over. Thanks in advance

    In Michigan that kind of thing doesn't count for an obstructed plate so mine stays where it is. Not sure about Colorado though.

    I think I’d be fine in most of Colorado, but being in Denver, the meter fairies will leave tickets if the cameras on their cars can’t pick up your plate (from experience with my last car)

    Unless you intend to leave your bike rack permanently in the hitch, you could use neodymium magnets (SUPER powerful) to move it from the truck to the rack and back. Not as secure as the factory screws (which can be removed in 15 secs) but, unless someone is intending to "lift" the plate, no one will likely notice.
    (another option could be industrial strength velcro......the adhesive would be affected over time)
