I don’t know about Reno but Truckee has a nice little town bike park, as does South Lake Tahoe. I don’t jump but like to roll the tracks when no is looking, or watch the kids 1/8 my age do crazy stuff. XC trails in the area are great. Have fun!

Someone got drunk (or stole) a Mitsubishi and drove it down our local single track. It’s caught in a switchback. Tires are flat and it’s hanging over a ledge on the other side. No idea how they are going to get it out.

The pile of shattered plastic reminds me of seeing the remnants of a Walmart bikes first trail outing.

A buddy of mine just did that last week. Like, 5k+ of climbing? Fuuuuuck that noise. PCMR lift up, 3 Candles, Crest, Hobo, Insurgent, Ricochet, back to PCMR. Like 2.5k climb, 4k down, lots of variety. My kind of ratio. Headed up that way in a few minutes.
If I'm feeling good I'd do some Canyons or PCMR laps after. BTW, have you guys found the new "rogue" trails? Pretty gnarly stuff. Makes Insurgent and Moose House feel like warm-ups.

Get rid of it. I've had that axle of a few bikes, it just gets tired. Replace it with a solid axle with no lever, several manuf make em. Narrower read hub, no hook ups, no issues. In the mean time, point that thing backwards so it doesn't hook on any branches. Had that happen once, whipped the bike out from under me.
Here's the Oneup axle, good product for sure. Doesn't work on all bikes, but most.

I visited Reno a few years back and wished I had more time to actually ride! I remember look at maps seeing trails everywhere. I'm not sure what august is like but I was there in July and the mornings were actually super nice, like if I remember correctly some mornings would be in the 60s when the afternoon would hit 100 haha

I'm in Steamboat Springs this week and its being raining almost everday. All trails appear to be open but I'm not trying to be that guy. Can anyone suggest trails in the area that do better with moisture/rain that others? Any other suggestions?

    not enough.
Hah. see, I'm one of those weirdos that enjoys a good climb and a big day. 4k up days sound pretty fun. Because it also means I get 4k down!

What "rogue "trails? I haven't seen any really rogue or piratey trails.

So..........I noticed this the other day.

Cracked seat tube? Doesn't look like an impact.
It's on the seat tube behind the chainstay bridge. It's an important part because the main pivot is right behind that part. You can almost see the pivot hardware off to the right hand side of the tube.

I've already contacted Evil. Let's see what they say.

Those of you with the 1Up rack, what are you using for security? I ordered the hitch pin lock and was maybe going to use a chain or lock looped through tow hooks. Besides that, maybe just wheel locks and a chain for the bike. I don't anticipate ever leaving my bike on there and being away, but mainly want something to prevent stuff happening stopped in traffic etc.

I don't have the exact rack, but I do the same plus one hurky hardened Pewag chain I put through the bike frames and over the tailgate to the right bed stiffener. Good Italian and USA locks. Maybe one cable with a Chinese alarm lock, mess with that one first and it screams.

So far so good and as you say don't really leave it out of sight. Nothing is perfect. But you can slow the asshole thieves down and you can deter the amateurs. We take our bikes camping and sometimes..........well you know you can't be disturbed.

EDITED - Wife was driving on a bumpy road and what a mess I made of a post.

    Yeah.
I just run a cable through the bike frame and rear wheel and lock it to the hitch, which is locked to the vehicle.

I have this same axle on my Ti hardtail and haven't had any issues after about 4 years. One thought/question...do you keep your axle greased? I try to make sure there's always a bit of grease on my axles (partially to prevent galvanic corrosion between the aluminum and Ti). I'm not engineer so I have no idea if this would matter for the axle loosening, but it's still a good practice. In the end, I agree with @abacall, get a new axle.

Maybe I'm over-confident, but I doubt any traffic light thief could figure out the 1up rack that quickly. If you've never used the rack before, it takes a minute to figure out. If you have used the rack before, you're probably not stealing bikes at traffic lights.

Thats the underside of the seat tube right? What makes you think it is not the result of an impact?

I could be wrong but based only on what I can see, the defect looks to be primarily paint related and not structural. Obviously I'm just some dude on the interwebs. Hopefully Evil will get back with you soon.

Looks like an impact to me or something wedged as the frame flexed then popped out.
