Non Tacoma related, but my boss just reached out to me for some help. He owns a Suburban for his family vehicle and took it into Chevy for some maintenance before he goes on a trip. Chevy said they found metal shavings in his pan and are recommending a new transmission. Of course this is a stealership, so I think they are freaking him out.

Does anyone have any recommendations of a transmission shop near Frisco you all recommend? The suburban has just under 100,000 miles on it.

Thanks, they tried screwing me years ago on some exhaust work so I’ve sworn them off since then.

I took it to Collin County Off-Road.

If he doesn’t have any issues mechanically I’d say roll with it.

Just saw a third gen on 635 in Garland that had been in a gnarly rear ender. Looked to be either black or MGM with a fiberglass topper. If you’re on here, I hope you’re alright!

ha. they did a few rounds of my exhaust work until it was clear the guy in the back f'ing hated my truck or maybe Toyota generally, not sure. so i finished at Excalibur... but Gentry's did the best alignment i had in years. only other guy aside from Pablo at Tandem who could get a perfect alignment to the hundredths.

    Good to know!

yeah they quoted me a price on a muffler install after I installed headers on my Sierra. Got there and the price changed by $100 (and all pertinent info was given the day before)which I argued and settled on a $25 difference as I just needed it done. Then I get back once they were done and they chopped off my exhaust tips and dumped the exhaust which was not what I asked for at all. They then tried charging me for the work they had to do additionally to fix their fuck up and held my keys hostage. I had given them my spare and just remote started the truck and told them I was leaving altogether and not paying shit. The owner finally arrived and fixed his sons (assuming it was his son, this was like 8 years ago) fuck ups. Had the owner not came when he did I was leaving and they could keep the spare key!

yikes. truth is i wish it was Briscoe who did better alignments, but Gentry's guy is so good. Briscoe has never dialed it in, so i just deal with Gentry. but they never did anything weird in probably 5-6 visits. all but two were exhaust work.

So we had a silver 21 TRD OR DCSB traded in with barely 5k miles on it. A/T's, rough country spacer lift, bed rack of some sort, pro grill and raptor lights, and a bunch of big bend and Icon stickers on it. Looks like the previous owner bought it, took it on a trip or two, then traded it in.

I saw the icon sticker and was about to try to talk my way into a suspension swap. Then laughed.

So... I'm no longer working from home.

I've been asked to go back into the office and I have been doing that for two and a half weeks now.

I really don't miss the commute. All the way from Allen to the West End in Downtown Dallas.

Traffic sucked this morning. This was southbound 75, near Arapaho. Poor Prius.

We saw 6 wrecks to and from the in-laws’ on 635 on Sunday. People forgot how to drive.

I've noticed that. I think they also stopped maintaining their vehicles. This isn't the first Car-B-Que that I've seen recently.

I wanted to vote but I would not be able to commit to a weekend. Got a lift and a handful of other parts I need to get installed on the Tacoma. Probably knock some out this weekend and the rest next weekend, but life seems to be throwing scheduling curve balls lately.
