This is one of the primary reasons that the new Camburg "LT" kit is appealing to me. They are using a slapper arm setup that allows the bump to be engaged much later in the travel than the standard bump location that LT kits have. Undecided on the fact that they are using a direct fitment replacement shock that would be used for an MT setup and a 2.5" bump but only time will tell how it works. I'm leaning towards this kit being more for the "Overlander" who wants LT.

Yeah most definitely! Or just move your bump higher so it’ll not ride on the lower as much for the time being.

You got my number buddy, hit me up sometime and let’s go!

Looks like Camburg has them up on the site as a "Trail LT" kit that ranges from 4095 to 4895 (for 4x4) depending upon which upper arm you want without the air bumps/slappers. The slappers are an extra $1695.

That’s some nice tube work on the core support. Definitely going to have to save that if I ever decide to tackle that in the future.

mount the bump to the spindle itself like integrated into the spindle gusset :poking: who wants low unsprung mass anyways?

Camburg sells a OEM replacement, fully fabbed spindle, that might work. If you're doing all the work for an engine cage and engine bay rebuild it really is a shame not to bump off the upper. Give camburg a call and ask, they were going for 1500 bucks last I saw.

Are you able to bump off the camburg spindle? Ive only seen it done on vertical uniball style spindles like lsk or marlin.

Yeah like @atvlifestyle said you can build a vertical uniball bolt into a strike pad. The Camburg spindle definitely would hold the force. Michigan guys go much harder than 95% of the guys on here too. TT Motorsports said he had a truck like that - just have it aligned prior to setting up your bump location so it doesn’t hit unexpectedly on the side of the strike plate. Here’s an example:

You can definitely bump off a vertical uniball bolt (OEM spindle styel), if you look around on google images you'll see some older pre-runners set up that way. just weld a plate to the top of the bolt and you're off.

Almost everyone doing it now is building horizontal uniball arms though, because it makes other issues easier to deal with in the suspension package and if you're doing a fabbed spindle for a LT kit you might as well. Camburg designed that OEM spindle for people who kept breaking them, but didn't want a whole new front suspension.

    Interesting, thanks.

Weird that they seem to be running a regular ext-travel coilover on a 4-5k kit instead of speccing a longer travel coilover/shock system. I also don't know if I know enough about it, but the slapper arm thing seems like a lot of complication to build what's basically a bump-stop/bypass. I'm no expert, but have a pretty decent education in engineering -- it seems like a lot more things to break/go wrong and doesn't *really* bring any significant benefits? I've always been in the mindset of build it easier, but we were also building rockets, so anything that could break would break.

That's going to be hugely appealing to a lot of people, not having to buy another CO. Especially with lead times like they are right now. I'll be curious to see travel numbers and real-world reports when it hits the streets.

    Yes
That must just be a +2 kit ? ...and that slapper bump stop is cool however anyone else notice that it entirely occupies the space that would be used for a bypass ?

Yeah, that's what they said in the comment section.

Probably because they know their audience. People running this kit won't be interested in a secondary shock.
