Oh no, I completely agree. The price for the scarab mount is fair.
I was assuming the methanol injection companies werent selling a bracket and just charging $100+ for a bottle and pump, which is where I got the 5 minutes of work from. I know making a bracket is involved and takes wayyyy longer than 5 minutes

    Only if it adds 5hp.

Ah word. I mean I kinda want it to buy it for the jeep tears sticker alone.

the jeep tears sticker is just as good as 40s and Tons

edit: My father in law has a jeep, so… the jeep tears sticker was a HUGE purchase incentive.

I never mentioned the bracket. The price for that washer bottle kit is for the bracket, not the bottle. That’s understandable.

But tacking on an insane profit margin just because people don’t know where else to look for something is too much.

That being said I my memory failed me. For some reason I remember these methanol tanks being much higher in price. I just checked and it’s fairly reasonable. But you can still buy them direct without any logo for cheaper.

Yeah that price for a bracket is understandable. Too much for my pocketbook, especially when I have a friend with a cnc plasma table, but the pricing makes sense buying from a company. You've got material + R&D + overhead, it all adds up quick.

My dad ran his own plumbing shop for 10 years and people would always think hes robbing them with $140/hr labor, when is take home for him was less than a 1/4 of that

    Hey Captain Magma!
Where did you order this? Also, do you happen to have a picture of the back of it? I pried mine off and now I can't get it to clip back in (driving me crazy), I think I might be missing some clips.
    Thank you!

Weirdly enough, I do still have some pics. There are 2 replaceable panel clips and then the molded in top “hook” piece the clips into the panel above it

I got mine from McGeorge Toyota. They did send me the wrong one the first go around. I’d take a pic of the p/n molded into the back and order exactly that. Their VIN verify service pulled one for an older truck, the color was slightly off as well as the top molded in clip wasn’t long enough to reach it’s clip in point.

Also, make sure you’re pulling up the door sill trim (both front and back) and tuck the bottom of the panel underneath. It won’t want to line up otherwise.

My CV boots are toast. What's the general consensus? Replace axles with new OEM since they're 21 years old? reboot with OEM boots? reboot with high angle boots?

Princess Auto had a sale on these plastic lock boxes today

Decided to pick them up as a trunk organizer for my 1) jumper cables, 2) straps, 3) buggies cables, 4) winter windshield protector, 5) ice scrapers, 6) towels and ponchos. And 7) Socket set. Great value $29 for the 4 small boxes in one and $29 for the large box

Sounds smart. I should start building out a set of trail spares.

I went with ext travel cv axles; they have a lifetime warranty.

If I did it again, I would've just opted for reman OEM, and go with high angle inner boots.

Been running the ext travel for 7-8 months now with many miles on them and even though the boots ripped on both sides, the design itself caused them to not leak at all (oddly enough).

I do have 3 OEM extras as trail spares though which I'll reboot with Dan's boot mod.

Ordered myself an early Birthday Present today.

super excited, only took me 20 years to finally look into getting great WeatherTech Floor Mats for my 2002 Tacoma (Grey to match my interior)

If you're going to get OEM remans I would get them from Toyota. I don't know about CVJ or their products.
