morning! I feel back on track now I think. I mean from working Monday, threw me off some.

 

I had a choice between orange or black.
Chose black, figure it will be easier to trip over or stub a toe on

Early morning reminder to always wear safety glasses. This was a hydraulic line relieving itself of pressure after having sat for 10 minutes with the pump off and controls cycled.

Stand off to the side if possible.
Bad industry accident; I didn't see it but coworker did, guy torching off a plug from hydraulic cylinder that was supposedly relieved of pressure. Coworker said he looked like not even human but a overcooked little sizzler sausage. Miraculously he survived.
Good on you for PPE!

Another thought for @BananaMan , be sure to let the new trainee know that if he sees something questionable or unsafe then to speak up. Ultimately we minions must look out for each other.
I coached a guy in the machine shop once when I was just a contractor. He thanked me and said, your right.
After I was hired several months later, he recalled that time and reminded me to look out for each other. Many times it's not the new guy that gets injured, but the older guy who has become complacent.

 

Boring work today drilling 1/8” cross holes in stainless rods. Usually use the auto rotating 4th axis but that machine is tied up so back to the manual indexing head.

 

Everything is manual here. I have to make 10 mounting plates. This set up is questionable; I'll post a picture why in a second. Trying to get a good working edge
