I have not given up...it’s just been tough between work, not going to the gym again due to Covid, kid schedules, keeping my lady happy, aging parent, etc ...

Yup, helpfully it all works out for him. Construction materials are as insane as house and car prices right now. So all the maths and cyphering have to be used to figure out if it all makes sense.

We'll see which of my clients are "worthy" tomorrow. I have 3 more of these in various weights coming to my studio soon.
I admit, 55lbs was for me. The 15,25 and 35 will get more use by clients.

    They are.

That's why I'm thinking carefully about what I want to do. It's easy to drool at how much money I can pocket and invest for the next few years, but once I want to buy again am I going to be able to get into something with the same cash? I'm mortgage free right now, so I can live super cheaply and invest in retirement (on track to fully retire in 7 years). What true long term sacrifice am I making if I cash in too early?

But I want to move away from where I am now.

    Not easy choices.

The kids and lady part. Mostly kids… love em to death but had no idea how much time and attention they actually take. No time to just rest or relax really cause if you get a break from them then it’s time to work on your stuff and if not that then it’s the lady and if not that then work and it never ends lol.

That will change as they get older. I remember those days of almost no sleep and having to work full time while feeling(and probably looking) like a zombie. You trade that for school stuff and driving them all over. lol

It’s all part of it. I’m grateful to be a father and take pride in parenting my son. For me, had I not had children I could have easily been a man boy....chasing hobbies most of my life. Living for more than myself helped me become more of a well rounded person and forced me to grow in ways I might not have had I not became a parent. It’s good for ya

I’m far from a man boy but I decided the hobby chasing was for me over kids. I like being selfish and having fun. Plus I prefer having more money so I can spoil the nieces and nephews.

Its really nice doing what you want when you want :)

I was speaking for myself only and was not insinuating that men who choose to not have children are man boys. Becoming a father certainly helped me become and understand what it truly is to be a man in my opinion.

Having said that, everyone has a different path in life. Finding your own path is everyone’s personal quest.

Comes down to personal taste. I never really had a burning desire, my stance was if I ended up in a stable place I'd decide then. I was far from stable in my younger years in many ways so it was best to not procreate..arguably the only smart thing I did in those days.

While unfortunately I wasn't there like I wanted to be in their youth (not my choice), my oldest nephew and I have been catching up now that he's older. I rarely see the younger 2 though.

I was just saying I don’t feel I’m immature or aimless in life, I just like the hobby chasing part of no kids. Wasn’t taking offense to what you said.

I like the picture you painted of no responsibilities :)

I also would likely make a horrible parent.

Something nobody tells you too… kids make time FLY. Time always flies but damnit man… watching them grow up really makes you realize there isn’t enough time in the days

    Back to lifting stuff.
