Hmmm I'm no suspension expert but a dovetail is a type of joint where you would join two materials together. I'm not sure what a single piece of something would like if it was dovetailed

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dovetail_joint

Edit: Ahh I see the bed of that truck is a good example lol. If you put something in that bed shaped like this \ / it would not slide out lol

Yeah but the cool thing about 2nd gens is its easier to link them because you can run the links out side of the frame rails. With my truck (1st gens) we have to back half (Cut the frame off at the cab for those that did not know that term) the frame to run links. a great example of this is the TC 2nd Reg cab truck. the links are on the outside of the frame.

I looked through all my stuff from King yesterday. Was I supposed to get a spanner wrench with my shocks or do you have to buy it separate?

If you want it separate then buy it but you dont need it.

Use an allen wrench that fits in the adjuster holes and a flathead screwdriver for the gap in the adjuster ring. Take your time and you wont scratch them up too much. Make sure the flat head crew driver and allen wrench fit the holes tightly or you will round them out and gouge them.

Thats funny cause I was just trying different screwdrivers to see if one fit perfect. I found one that fit pretty snug but I hadnt thought of allen wrenches. Thanks

Ok so now I'm looking at them and if you look at the pic above they are an "overcap" style. Would I clamp the top of the shock in a vice when I adjust them? I think I'll have to be careful not to loosen the cap when I turn the adjuster. Also does it have to be off the truck? Ive heard you can on the truck if the wheels are off the ground

there is plenty of room to adjust the shocks when they are on the truck w/ your LT kit on. thats how i do it, plus i'd wait till they are on the truck anyways cause to keep the truck level (side to side) your going to have to put a little more perload on the driver side shocks to compensate for all the weight on that side (driver, battery, gas tank).

I dont know what an overcap style is. From the pic they look just like my Kings. I have adjusted them on/off the truck. Its easy when they are new. Later it sucks as they get corroded and harder to adjust.

I thought it was because the cap was threaded on top around the outside using the same threads as the adjuster. But now looking at Kings site it looks like all their shocks are like that. Now I don't know what overcap is either but it allows the shock to collapse to 14 3/8" but still travels 8". The normal 2.5x8 collapses to 16"

Yeah I was hoping I can on the truck. The only thing is my hose comes straight down and from the center. Yours look more to the rear but tilted to the front. Mine def look way soft the way the are now. They are only about an inch from the top
