ah yes you are correct. I figured we still needed something but I guess you only need that for headers it seems or possibly for a smog (if you know the right person). My understanding it would fail without a sim even on the rears.

The ECU doesn't care/know what is going on with the rear cats.

No need for sims if you're just talking aftermarket y-pipes, an aftermarket y-pipe isn't passing the visual inspection unless it's an incompetent or shady shop. My stock y-pipe is up in the attic and will come out to play every 2 years.

 

Is the keg a chambered muffler?

 

totally. I will keep mine for that but also have a spot that likely wont care about visual but we will see with the new changes happen.

Don't take my word 100% but I think it's a cambered/turbo style muffler. At least from what I remember.

 

So that would make it directional?

 

i would believe so. I would route it where you would read the verbiage on the muffler like part numbers etc. just my best guess.

I've got stock manifolds if anyone needs a set for inspection purposes, or is looking to buy.

 

I don't think we will end up doing a supercharger specific cooler setup anytime soon however it is something we are definitely interested in doing. If we were it'd be a very different design. Large cooler on a bracket and all AN fittings/line. We do have some AN oil cooler plans in place for another vehicle which we will likely tie into Tacoma and in doing so circle back to a trans cooler setup for Toyota.

What happened ?

 

Loud noises. Thought and it does sound like it’s coming from the clutch but the oil press light flickered. No codes at all. And the oil looks fine. Unlike the last time I blew the engine and spun a bearing. Haven’t torn into it yet. Will next week. I’m on leave for 2 weeks so I’ll try and figure it out. If engine is toast again, probably sell the whole truck as is.

 

I pray that it isn't the engine.
