I live in NW GA just a few miles from AL. We start in Alabama and spend a day driving north and stopping at places of interest. We usually end up a little north of Chattanooga before heading home.

If you're staying in Chattanooga head over to Cloudland Canyon state park for a few hours. It is only 4-5 miles off the path of the yard sale right in the NW corner of GA. You are literally only a few miles from Alabama and Tennessee.

The Incline Railway was cool and sketchy as hell! Had a blast at Rock City and well worth the price of admission. Just driving around Lookout Mountain was awesome and got to see some amazing houses that had some gorgeous views. Then picked up a pizza on Market St and drove to the park by Pedestrian Bridge and enjoyed the view.

Now that’s what I’m looking for! On the way back south we’re spending another day/night here and will check it out. Than you for the recommendation

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Paul, on your way back down your travels may take you not far from this place. I just got back from a weekend trip packed with a Concert at The Caverns and we spent the other time hiking. Check out a show!

Get your hike on and swim under a waterfall! Super nice! Short hike, but it’s no joke. If you got bad knees or don’t have good balance, just check it out from the top.

Wow! That looks phenomenal! I cannot wait to come back. It took less than 6 hours from where we live in FL. I should be back on Thursday on the way south

So last night after dinner we head over to Walmart to get a few supplies and just before we enter we see this heavyset lady hauling ass (literally) out the store being chased by another woman, we find out later she was loss prevention, and a security officer. Not but a few feet later 3 police officers chased her down on foot and apprehended her with reasonable force. Just as we pulled into the parking lot we noticed 3 police cars there, just waiting. It was quite the spectacle to be honest since I already had a few beers. Reminded me of this, she had zero chance of getting away:

If you go down South to the the Southern end of it at Gadsden, Al, ask around about the Mountain Top flea market, also go eat at "Top of the River" restaurant, it's outstanding. About 20 miles North of Gadsden on I-59 is the town of Collinsville, Al. There's another flea market there that's only open on Saturdays but it is huge to put it mildly.

We will be making Gadsden the last stop and will hit up those places. Sounds like I can’t miss it

The locations are easy to find on Google maps.
To locate the Mountain Top flea market, on Google maps, look West of Gadsden exiting Interstate I-59 at exit 183, go 3.1 miles on highway 431 to highway 278, go left on highway 278 for 4.7 miles. Mountain Top is on the left.
To locate the Top of the River restaurant, on Google maps, go back to I-59, go East on 431 for 5.1 miles, the turn right (South) on highway 411, go 2.3 miles, Top of the River is on the left on the bank of the Coosa River. This is a large restaurant with some of the best catfish and steaks in the South. Prices are great and the wait staff is excellent. Be sure to be hungry, portions are big.
To locate the Collinsville flea market, on Google maps, Collinsville is about 20~25 miles North of Gadsden on I-59. Exit the interstate East into "down town" Collinsville and look about 1 mile South on highway 11. Collinsville is known for having a lot of farm animals, crafts, and antiques for sale. It's a huge place. They are not open on Sunday.
About 17 miles North of Collinsville is Ft Payne (location of the Alabama Band fan club and museum), just East of there is "Little River Canyon National Preserve. Very scenic drive and Bear Grylls filmed one of his survival episodes there.

Did Chattanooga Distillery and bought a couple of bottles to take home, dinner across the street at Stir and then peach cobbler ice cream at Clumpies. Good times.

Managed to get a room at the Shaker Village. Pretty cool to be in such a historic place.
