    Thanks for the thorough response.
After doing some more reading and researching, I came across your posts that mentioned the Napa Eclipse calipers are the ones that will work with the soft line due to the machined surface.
Even though the Napa stores don't carry them anymore, I was still able to get it mailed to me.

If I encounter issues down the line, I'll swap to the hardlines.

I kept my tube work simple to keep it light. I’ve never weighed mine but my guess is around or less than 5k on 40s with a full spare and enough spares and tools to get off the trail. 6k is absurd and would have been to much for my last tow rig to handle for sure. 6k is approaching what my new weighs lol.

Brennan’s packing and bags and way he does things is where I got a lot of ideas for mine. Make everything so you can easily get at any auto parts store and split carrying spares with your buddy. Cuts down on a lot of weight

Yes, I have been watching. But if I do it, it will have to be properly fueled.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Just for reference… my buddy, that was with me, in a bone stock 2001 double cab. No gear, nothing in the bed, and on 265/70R17 weighed in at 4350 pounds.

The difference in your tires alone would put his truck at 4500 pounds. Your tires weigh around 30 pounds a piece more than his do x5. Your bumper/winch is minimum 100 pounds more than his (stock) now he'd be at 4600 pounds. Then you have the added weight of your suspension over stock... the added weight of a solid axle over the IFS diff and CVs... add in belly skids, and sliders

Granted... you take a couple hundred pounds off for the Xtra cab vs Double cab

    You're still pushing 5k unloaded

It seems to be more about proper management of fuel mapping for the conditions, not just octane. Though octane does play a roll.

Thanks man, I've changed that idler pulley twice now thinking it was that, so hoping it is actually the clutch bearing and not something else. My clutch is also fine, it's a bummer you can't buy those other pieces separately.

Is this the one you went with on there?: UACCL1930C{#8841035340}Compressor Clutch

With all this weight talk, led me to a quick google search… pretty crazy to hear guys are carrying 2500+ pounds in these things. Makes me think mine weighs less than I actually thought.

The only way to know for sure is to weigh it.

You can Google all you want. I can just tell you what the scale said.

He has a 2001, V6, auto, double cab and came in at 4350 pounds, with full tank (approx. 115 pounds), and driver (approx. 280 pounds).(This was already established)

You realize vehicle weights are normally dry weight and never include the driver? And also normally about as accurate as estimated miles per gallon. If the scales were off for his truck, it means they were off for my truck, and my truck weighs less than we're talking about.

EDIT... also... my truck weight was with a full tank and me at about 230.

I didn't realize regular cab PreRunners existed... and all PreRunners are autos?

Yeah all Prerunners were auto and there were reg cab ones.

2nd gen Prerunners had a manual trans option.

With 1st gens you could only get a manual with the 5 lugs or the 4x4s. And all double cabs were auto regardless.

Really? I swear I remember seeing a manual 5spd ext cab prerunner at one point that was stock. Maybe no

If it was then it was manual swapped. Or it started out as a 5 lug that someone built into a real prerunner. Which was probably the case.

edit - or it was a 4x4 without any of the badging, or had a Prerunner badged tailgate put on at some point.

I think my last weigh in was at 4960 with my old setup. I have to be at least 5200 with the rack now.

Last I weighed on leafs with the full exo I’m 4490 without me in it but ready to wheel.
-37’s with beadlocks and matching spare.
    -FZJ80 rear axle swapped in
    -Fabbed front housing
    -Duals
    -Exo

It was 3900 with non beadlocks, no spare and still a Tacoma axle in back. Im trying to get back there now…ditched some tube work and heavy ass sliders, pared down the tool kit to all soft bags, got rid of duplicate tools, etc.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Did the lower ball joints and a new hood cable on the 02 for my pops today.
Need to get a rack and outer tie rods… and put the new upper ball joints in too. Time for shocks too. Had this truck almost 7 years now. From 68k to 191k it’s been damn near zero maintenance. Time for a t belt again soon too

I'm sure this has been discussed in other threads so I don't want to bogart this one but are you sure it ONLY adjusts shift points? After another 50-60 miles today, I would liken it to having severe turbo lag to not having any. My truck just runs better period and not just from rapping farther in each gear.

    At least my 2c . . .
