I didn't ask for your opinion on the Camburg kit. I asked for you to elaborate on a very specific part of your statement. I'm here to learn and have conversations but I'm not going to argue with anyone about their opinion about a kit that frankly nobody in this thread is even interested in purchasing. If anything, I found the slapper arm option of the kit was the most interesting part.

Are you saying that bump travel is decreased because of the increased load forces? Wouldn't that effect all aspects of the travel? Legit question. Just trying to understand your perspective. Nobody said that you wouldn't have to make changes to the spring rates or valving in order to make a direct fitment shock work. I actually recall that already being discussed. See the below post.

You're also not working with factory shock mounts when you change the LCA out. The geometry can vary per kit so your statement is vague.

The upper mount remains exactly the same. So that does not change. The lower mount however does. Putting the shock more vertical is going to do one of two things. Make it sit tall, or sit deep in bump travel. Sitting deep in the bump travel isn't necessarily a bad thing. But I'm assuming that's why they are using the slapper setup which is basically going to act like a secondary air shock.

Option 15, they didnt change the shock mount location at all but simply going 2" wider is what added the additional travel. Which does actually make some logical sense. Im intrigued.

There was also talk of moving the lower mounts. So no.

So I'm pretty new the the concept of LT but everyone seems pretty negative towards a +2 kit are they all that bad?

No, it's an age old debate of cost vs benefit. I say it comes down to your use and expectations.

Dunes and rock crawling. i personally think travel numbers are overrated and tuned shock are more important. To me going a bit wider gives me just a bit more stability with the small bonus of more travel. So I guess whowho do you think makes the best kit ( customer support and functionality)

If I was closer to dunes or found myself out there frequently I would either be buying a +4 lt kit and USA or a sxs. Currently I don’t have a “need” for either

I can agree with that to a certain extent. You can't beat having both though.

I just went to the JD Fab 2.25" kit on my personal truck. I don't do any dedicated high speed stuff and track width is important to me. They also offer a 4" for those who want to go that route along with much more product to address the weaknesses in the Tacoma.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fitting-35’s-with-minimal-trimming-now-adding-long-travel-and-934-cv’s.626274/

I'm also a fan of the Dirt King product but they only offer a 3.5" wide kit. Good company to support with a solid product.

The real question is what your plan is for the rear and where you're willing to compromise.

The back is getting coilovers weather i mount them to the axle or the arm is still up for debate. Currently my truck is going in for the startings of an engine cage. Then LT up front

3/4-link? Using a kit or a custom design?

3 link i don't want to have to relocate the gass tank right away and it would be custom from the shop next to were I live. As far as I know there isn't really a kit for a 2nd gen

Thats because to really maximize the performance of a link setup with trailing arms you almost have to cut into the cab to mount shocks. There is barely enough room for a coilover let alone a coilover and bypass. Realistically, the extended cab would be ideal because of the longer bed.

Not completely accurate. It's been done. I don't think there's a large enough market to justify many companies making a kit. People who want to go that route have it done custom.

When I was going over the process with my shop we came to the conclusion that trailing arms would work I would just have to stretch the wheelbase a bit for it to work properly
