Rear spot lights

I do lots of hunting and there are many utility easements on the lands where I hunt. They make great shooting lanes. I want to just back the truck into place and hit the lights. I'm looking for clamp-on bright spot lights that possibly clamp onto the bed rails. I really don't want to be drilling holes in the cab or installing roll bars to mount them on. Anyone seen anything like that?

 

Your best bet will probably to use the cargo rails in the bed. Looks like Cali Raised and a few others make them. Just Google "tacoma bed rail light mount" and you'll find plenty of options

Quick note:

The battery harness for the lights reached fine in length, I did have to add extension wires for the switch in the cab, just a few feet worked.

 

These, but consider mounting them by the tailgate.

That's a good point.

OP you can still use those bracket to mount to the side rails toward the tail gate. They also make brackets that mount in the tailgate location if you wanted to go that route as well.

 

Some bed stiffeners have mounting holes for antennas, but they may work for these?

 

Yeah, I think they would. Always an option, I don't think I would put them there though having a light that low in the bed space, could get damaged easy?

 

That’s true, I’d have to look at mine/height of the light mount.

There are also mounts for lights/antennas that bolt on between the bed/tailgate.

Our service trucks at work use a variation of this set-up..........


Shop guys made their angle brackets a bit smoother than I did - but the tool box mount works well. The extended nut below and a wingnut on the tilt makes them quick to aim. Cheap LED lights came from Amazon - when they fail I'll get some better versions. Next time will get one spot and one flood.

 

I was thinking about adding brackets to my side rails. I just ordered another set of DD lights. I was going to use spring nuts that go into unisrut and mount lights to them

 

Magnetic based QBeam, or similar.
