I imagine the seat and steering wheel was replaced with similar controls as Mr. Garrisons invention.

The only justifiable way to look at it is that you’re getting a supercharged and modded TRD Pro. Not my cup of tea tho. Maybe if it was new on the showroom floor.

mod costs do not add to value like people think it does. Just because mods cost X dollars doesn’t mean your rig is worth book value + X dollars. All of it depreciates including parts.

It’s one thing paying $6k for a new supercharger kit, another paying $6k for a used kit. Because that’s essentially what you’re getting.

Those were the best Cherokees. I sat in mine before I bought it and thought “it has everything I need and nothing I don’t” it was utilitarian with some luxury features and creature comforts. I drove it for ten years and almost 200k.
My Tacoma struck the same nerve with me. It actually does most things well, I just have some gripes about build quality, (which is still better than most brands out there) IMO. I think going from a Tundra to a Tacoma is much different than vice versa, plus I might be getting a little intolerant as I get older lol.

People claim they want to relive the good ole days and Nissan kept the good ole days alive thru 2020 with the Frontier which is a world platform, but people said nope they want the tech that the Tacoma offers which includes open c-channel center frame, mini-van engine and a head unit where the rear speakers don't work.

I wouldn't be surprised if 2nd gen Frontiers become appreciating assets as 1st and 2nd gen Tacoma tides go higher.

That’s essentially what a $28k base Wrangler Sport 2-door 6 speed is. But what are the odds you’ll be able to get your hands onto one?

half of it is nobody buys them...idk probably because they’re just day dreaming and when time comes they’ll drop an extra $15k for a Unlimited Sport S with a few tech packages even though they claim to want old school.

the other half is the damn dealers don’t inventory them. I always wonder why manufactures offer you to build models on their website then when you go to the dealerships they can’t even get one. And/or when you try to order one they say “nope can’t get em but we got this really expensive one right here right now”.

I’ve been to the Jeep dealer a few times over the past few years and I have never seen a base sub $30k wrangler, but I’ve seen a lot of them pushing $45k

They know Jeep owners spend a lot on aftermarket stuff, so the dealer tries to get their money first.

No... a Wrangler is NOT "basically" the much more versatile Cherokee before Cherokees were ruined.

And I sympathize that dealerships no longer carry stripped models. It should be crimnal, but the public has been manipulated into buying what they don't need for quite some time. It's our own fault for falling for the sales pitch that bells and whistles will improve resale. What a crock of horse manure that is. The bells and whistles jump the price 100% over the stripped version and the "options" depreciate faster than the basic vehicle. But we bought it and now we have to own it.

Amen brother! Couldn’t agree more. When I finally pulled the trigger on a 3rd gen Taco after nearly a decade of 2nd gen ownership I settled on a stripped down SR, thinking long and hard about my plans with the truck and what was really needed. I even told them to take out the floor mats at the factory. Needless to say all the creature comforts of the SR convenience package were far above that of my 2007 TRD and I was very pleased….then we gutted it at 800 miles and built a monster. Total investment with professional regear, locker, kings, Deavers, the works….$38k.

Seeing a 2016 taco with Bilstein 5100s for $45k is mind blowing.

The green tailgate panel in cool, I've never seen one before. I checked the website and Mountain Hatch doesn't have that listed. Wonder if it was a one time custom thing?

Look around SoCal, there are tons of geared up OR vehicles that have never seen a speck of dirt. Its all for the west side yuppies to look rugged to their friends.
