Yes, it's mine. From what I can tell from most of it, it was built in the 50's sometime. The leaf springs were made at a blacksmith shop that used to be local called Vogt's, I actually had them do some leaf springs for my FJ40 in the early 80's before they closed down. I had taken it apart and put it back together years ago and had it running, drove it around the lake a couple of times, figured the local cops would have fun writing it up if stopped. It does 15-20 MPH but it's pretty scary at top speed. One drive and you understand why tiller steering disappeared VERY quickly.

It SUPPOSEDLY was in a local parade called the rose parade after it was built for several years but that was just hearsay from an old man I used to know. The rims are converted from fatty old bike rims and axles with added zerks, the brakes are all hand made, it has a trunk and the motor is accessed by removing the seat.

The paint is pretty much all original and the pinstriping was all applied by hand.

I figured out years ago it was probably built off the plans in the back of Popular Science/Mechanics way back when, I remember seeing plans for sale like that for .50 cents or a buck when I'd leaf through old copies.

Too cool! As far as the law goes would it fall under the same rules as a golf cart maybe?

I have no clue, I'd figured I'd just tell them, if stopped, to write it up as a Horseless Carriage and see what happens.

    Forgot about this post o_O

Little bit outta the price range, but thanks for thinkin' about me! Might be picking up something with an old Kohler and 54" rotted deck for a little of nothing. I got sheet metal and a welder, so that might be the ticket.

@RustyGreen it's a shame you don't live closer to me. I was browsing the FB marketplace this morning and a guy here is unloading two Wisconsin engines for $100.

That is in my price range!
That would be kind of a road trip even for me.
Fortunately they made millions of the Wisconsin engines so they aren't too tough to come by.
I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not... (need a bigger garage)

Then both of us would be tripping over old iron. :ballchain::ballchain:

Get on marketplace or CL -- you could start a "save the iron campaign -- Southern division".:laugh:

Next you would need a bigger garage naturally. :annoyed:

What I really need is to find a box blade because grading with a bucket is no fun

Yup, the box blade will move the material faster and easier to spread more evenly then I use the bucket to finite the finish in the harder or more confined areas.

from the look at a distance, it appears it comes with better leaf springs than the Tacoma as well!

He just wants to lay in the freshly dug up dirt, he likes it for some reason
What he lost in length, he gained in speed. That tail can wag faster than a mile a minute. Your boxers tail must be a sonic whip when he’s excited

We've had 3 boxers now and they've all had tails. I never see other boxers with tails but I'm so used to it that they look weird now to me without them.

This one doesn't get it so much, but the others would get "happy tail". They would wag so hard that they'd bust their tail open. Came home a couple of times to what looked like a murder scene.... blood all over the walls.

The best is when they bend in half when they're wagging and hit themselves in the face with their own tail.

    Boxers are awesome
