You’d be surprised at how relatively inexpensive an entire dash is. I looked it up once out of curiosity and I want to say it was like $300? Not super cheap but not as bad as I was expecting. I probably dumped $1k into Betty’s interior to get it up to snuff and fix the old and worn out stuff (and sound deaden) and I’m so glad I did.

The 4runner one is like $650 rip. Mine is cracked along a kinda inconspicuous transition, which thankfully makes it a bit difficult to see.

Sound deadening I definitely want to get to eventually

Oh man I was expecting much worse. That’s definitely not worth replacing at this point.

I did the floor and back wall so far with sound deadening. I still need to get to the doors and ceiling some day.

Yeah I'm just gonna roll with it, I'm just annoyed I didn't moisturize the crap out of it because it was fine when I got it. Also have other prioritizes, like the last foot of my frame on the driver side made out of cheez-its lol

I've had two door panels off for lock actuators, and I really shoulda got the ball rolling on sound deadening then

I’m gonna pull the trigger on some more sound deadening right now. At least to get one step closer. Maybe this can motivate you too if it’s in the financial cards at the moment. I recommend both the butyl foil stuff as well as the MLV mat

You're tempting me to make bad decisions lol. 35s are going on soonish (like hopefully next week), so I'll have to evaluate if the NVH or gear situation is worse. Although the fixes to those aren't even close in cost lol.

Unfortunately, going to have 0 free time after Aug 23

This should be relatively low on the priority list if I’m being honest. But also can be knocked out relatively easily and a great QOL increase, soooo.

yeah lower priority, but was thinking it was something I could slowly plug away at with small bits of free time.

speaking of QOL, increased 2mpg and more peppy without 1-1/2" toe out lol :anonymous:

Go for it then! Get some deadener and get at it when you have time time. Just the floor and back wall was a 10 db drop for me. Plus adding carpet with an MLV backing (had no carpet before that).

And it’s funny how the right toe helps. Were you able to use some of the tips I gave you?

yep had to redo the alignment today because I had +camber and ran out of adjustment with the SPC position I had. Changed that up a little bit, so I touched up the toe too. I believe its 1/8" in, which was good enough for right now. Might take to firestone (since I have the lifetime alignment) and try to have them just finesse the toe and also give me a printout of what all the specs are, because I'm curious how close my measurements are to what they get

Now that I've got the alignment where I want it, I've got a second set of wheels with HTs, so gonna swap to those. Then get the kendas swapped out on the current wheels and pull the front suspension, cycle it, and :sawzall:

The cleaner I buy at my local auto parts store. The mat, I have faith in your Amazon skills for that one. I went 150 mil thick for the mat this time. Last time I went 315 mil and it made getting the trim back on the rear wall difficult.
