Ok degenerates, since I can’t make the decision, I seek guidance. I have 12 ASTR 7.50 calls. AUG and SEPT. Currently in the +150% range give or take. How many do I ditch before they either scrub their late August launch plans or blow the damn rocket up on launch? Because I imagine that would hurt the value

 

Sell 1/2. That nets 25% profit plus 6 free money calls.

 

I like that. My other issue is my AUG 20 calls will likely expire before the launch. Setting to sell 3 of each. If it comes down to it I can exercise AUG calls and see what happens. If it’s trading above $9 I’m above water on those if I take the shares. Could be a bumpy ride, but I gotta see if I can get another run to 15-20.

Now they’ll announce setback AH today I’ll be bent over the barrel Monday. Should provide us all a good laugh.

It's how I try and secure my initial capitol when trading options. The only time I've really regretted it was last months NVDA calls that went 1100%. I sold 1/2 of them at 200%. Still made a ton of cash but I could have made almost twice as much. I could have lost it all as well though.

Yea, it’s the right strategy. It’s usually how I manage it, but I’m not normally waiting on the results of an actual rocket launch. Suppose it’s similar to holding through earnings in many ways. Just good guidance can’t make up for bad results in this case.

 

Let’s get them all back to ATH

 

At the rate my portfolio has been shrinking I'd be happy with $41.19. That's my break even. lol

 

Think big. Like a proper stock, our portfolios are just consolidating before a breakout
