I’d be more in favor of Forest hill but I’m ok with either.
If you’re buying your own cans, it will take about 3 cans per truck.

So for this undercoat guys, is it a seasonal application? I had Toyota's undercoat recall/service bulletin applied- should I still do a coat like this?

Forest Hill is probably 50 odd miles from me but would be my first choice, all things considered. @Backdoc, thanks for offering. I have a 20'x20' tarp that I could bring either way.

Regarding product, economics would trend towards gallons... team up? And if so, compressor? Spray guns? Accessories?

    I'm game either way.

Did you have your truck coated with something from Toyota or did they just plug the holes. I have a 2017 off-road and I got the bulletin also. They told me the process was putting plugs in the holes in the frame.

I’d be interested as well, but would definitely want someone who’s done it before as a guide.

ZKA program is the inspection and if you have rust corrosion frame damage they’ll replace the frame. Z0D program is the preventative coating. I did the preventative program in July last year and they did plugs and sprayed Nox Rust on the frame and wrote ZKA on the paperwork. Now I got a series of emails saying I need to do K0D service to maintain the 12 frame coverage, so I gotta bring it in again, even though I’m pretty sure they already did it.

I'd be down for a drive way party, so we don't have to worry about unexpected cops stopping our meet up (and beer drinking). Haha. I'm also down to bring cans or chip in for buckets/materials.

I’d be interested to come out! Since I moved to Gaithersburg, Forest Hill and Crownsville are far away but I’m familiar with both areas. Private driveway sounds better IMO because I’m assuming drinking beer on school property is probably a crime lol

I have a 6hp 30 gallon air compressor. I am not opposed to buying a cheap spray gun from Harbor Freight. I think we should team up and buy the undercoating in bulk but I am open to ideas.

Here is a full kit with 5 gal bucket. Almost 300 for the initial investment with black woolwax. The site says each truck would be about 1-1.25 gal per truck. Each 5 gal bucket is 209 for black. So, maybe $41 per truck for the undercoating product then extra for the person that might have the wand and wants to do the work… Ive no idea about spraying the inside of the frames, panels. Maybe someone that wants to do this should start a new post with polls and scheduling, to at least get real feelers and commitments. https://www.kellsportproducts.com/W...Five-gallon-pail-with-PRO-spray-Gun_p_47.html

Good morning everybody. I don’t recall who it was, but there were a few people that were talking about wanting to get out on some trails this weekend. I’m open to going anywhere other than Rausch.

For the undercoating day, maybe get a few people that want tunes and maybe @dave5623 would take the trip up.
For anyone thinking about it I can take you for a drive then to see what KDMaxx is like.

It's the seasonal under coating. Not anything to do with Toyota and the dealership.

I'm still kinda new to the site, are group DMs a thing on here? Might be easier to keep info straight and planning.

Too many to quote!! So, thanks everyone for the offers and getting additional info!! I have no problem with pitching in and buying the kit+woolwax

Alright brethren, I need some help.

Life has been an absolute constant kick in the teeth lately. Lost my job and took the past week to try to catch up on some side work that I hadn’t been able to get to. Then today while doing some volunteer work at church, the ignition on my truck decided that it didnt want to move out of the lock position. So I had to call someone to go get my spare key. Put the valet key in and it worked perfectly like always. Holding the two keys side by side, the key i’ve been using since April of 2012 is extremely worn.

My dilemma is, how much longer do I have until my ignition itself fails? Do I get a new ignition, new door locks and new tailgate lock? That sounds like a mess.

EDIT: FORTUNATELY my truck has a remote start system that uses a hidden key inside the truck. So I put the worn key in that secure location and now have a brand new key to use for the time being. I think i’ll have another key made from that good one just to be safe for now.

I can sympathize with life swinging below the belt lately. I'm glad for you that you had a "spare" key to bring your truck back into service. As long as the "new" key is functioning fine, I personally wouldn't sweat the ignition/door lock being worn out. The keys are what wears out first.
