How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

That's a pretty good attitude. Not to mention - well founded expectations.

I went in expecting about the same as you. Yet, the dealer assured me it would be sooner. I think that's what gets my goat.

Just want them to be honest with their timing and transparent with their process.

 

Yeah, and malicious dishonesty would really grate on me.

 

ask for sales manager, then ask for screenshot with ordering info. let them know you understand everything . tell them it can take 2-3 weeks delivery time and you must have built date of this week, if you gonna get it in Aug 23. See my written response above. good luck.

 

It really sucks for everyone who is still waiting. I figured that they were holding out on me because I’m using the Toyota discount. Good luck everyone!!

My personal experience from ordering parts over the years was a Sept build date meant the vehicle was the following model year. Interesting to see 2021s still being manufactured in Sept! First I've seen it.

 

Yes, hopefully they're still producing 2021s in September. I stipulated with the dealer that it has to be a 2021 in Cement (a discontinued color for 2022) or no deal. If it turns out to be a 2022 in Lunar Rock, I may just have to take it. Crossing my fingers for a 2021!

 

I'm getting ready to place an order for Sky Silver/Black Leather Limited. Sales manager said expect 3 month wait so my thinking is it will be a 2022.

 

I just put a deposit on a AG TRD OR that was already scheduled to arrive on August 23. I’m hoping for a earlier delivery date, already getting anxious!

Went by the dealer. Got the same story from my sales guy. It's coming the 24th but no VIN to be heard of.

I was able to get the sales manager's email address. I've sent an email. Hoping to get some info.

 

I just contact sales manager of another dealer. She told we can order 22 in September and 22 production will start on October.

 

They may be dishonest, keep you hooked as long as they can, then they will tell 21 is done and get 22, then they will try to increase price. If everyone know when they get their truck ( vin and built date) why not our dealer do not know. Probably they do not have allocation, but still need our business to make easy money.

 

This is my fear. Very frustrating. I have a sneaking suspicion I won't hear from the sales manager.

Called my salesperson. She answered the phone, I said, “hi it’s Marcus”, and she immediately hung up the phone.

Ok.

So I call back. Get her voicemail and leave a message that I’m just following up on the truck I put a deposit down for.

A couple hours go by and I’m thinking about how unprofessional this dealership has been through the whole process and how I put a $1000 deposit down. So I call back.

She answers and says she’s with a customer and will call me back within the hour. It’s now been several hours.

Thankfully I made the deposit with my credit card because I’ll just open up a dispute and instead of calling her or her manager I’ll go straight to corporate.

I was online and found the exact truck I want en route to another dealer. Talked to a very nice woman and the truck should be on a train on the 10th. If all goes well I’ll be driving that home in a couple weeks.

This initial dealer can go kick rocks for how they treat people.

 

Without a vin how would they know it’s coming the 24th? Sounds fishy.

I just went through a whole ordeal myself the past 3 months. Dates promised left and right, BUT no vin.

Without a vin it’s all bullshit.

 

To those who did not get vin and built date. Delere may have ordered the truck, but they do not wanna share vin and built date. if they get another buyer they will sell for more $. Car dealer are same as drug dealer, Dirty game, they try to make money as much as possible. it is not like grocery store, we do not go there every day,

 

Ahhhh! Checked my temp vin this evening & it said it wasn't valid. I hooped! Refreshed the page and it worked. :/ talk about a roller-coaster!
