Always wanted a Tacoma

Bought a Tacoma a few days ago and got pounded with snow the day I brought the DC home. Some how got suckered into the TXPro, actually got it for less than a TRD at another dealer but I dont like the rims. There seems to be more information on this site that I can handle at the moment and wondering if I can ask one quick question. I know it is covered in the forums... but what is the ideal lift? I want a small lift so that I can get the equivalent of about 32x9.5 MTR's on the truck (similar to the look of senor Taco). Looking for a increase in ride quality only and dont want to end up shaking down the highway, etc. I have never had a Yota so I dont even know where to start. Went back and forth on the colors... wish that I had gotten white now.

 

first off welcome! and if you only want to run a 32 a 3 inch lift would be more than enough do a set of coils and a add a leaf or a new leaf pack and youll be good to go toytec has a good lift called the ultimate lift they say the coils are a bit stiff tho but its all personal preference you know but check out that its a good place to start

 

Welcome OP! fwiw, imo your truck is full of win...your wheels and paint choice are awesome (even if you're having second thoughts now, wait...they may grow on you).

 

Welcome to the site! Pretty sure you can stuff 32x9.5 tires in there without a lift, but if you want a little one, toytec is the way to go. Great products and great customer service, including installation support.

those wheels on that txpro are the ones with the fake bead locks right? i work at a dealership, i had to put different tires on a set of those wheels... honestly i think they look better without the fake bead locks! they just screw off....

 

procomp 4" with 33's. its perfect, not to much, and great clearnace wih no rub.

 

Welcome to TW you got a nice truck a lot of people like the look of those wheels and I'm jealous about the snow I wish we would get hit like that how did it handle the snow.

Welcome to the forum. Your Taco is identical to mine and I love it. I think I was one of the earlier buyers of the T/X Pro (purchased on labor day 2010).

 

Nice! I like the TX's. Dont sweat the wheels. You'll be able to see those in a heartbeat on ebay. ^_^

To run a 32" tire a nice moderate lift is bilstein 5100s set at 1.75 in the front with a 1.5" add-a-leaf in back. Won't push anything too hard and looks great.

I was thinking about unscewing the locking ring, as soon as I get rid of those horrible mud flaps. I got a little screwed by my dealer who said the locks were real. I have owned a few 4x4 rigs and always thought they were illegal in the USA, which they are. He also said that the TXPro had a different intake manifold and the TRD exhaust. I dont see any word of a different intake so I would assume this is complete BS. I bought the truck "sight unseen", drove down to New Hampshire to get the truck... looked at it and then drove it off. I had never seen one before up here in Maine. I do have some of the complaints that I have read here on the forum already; a few squeeks, no leather which is NUTS, etc. I traded in my 2004 Audi S4... so I love this taco, but it is a bit of a trade down even thought it will be much more useful in the future than a 375 hp S4.

Any one have a picture of some 32's with a mild lift. Any problems with it? Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen any of these trucks around here either. Did you buy it from Maine Mall and pick it up in Gorham?
