    Thanks!

Didn't have much of one at micro center, litteraly the last RTX card on the (locked) shelf there was even a guy trying to decide if it was worth spending that much money for it and was asking questions with one of the sales associates about it, I had another with me and thought it was just an empty display box and surprised after overhearing said "that card there is for sale? It's not reserved for the e-line or just a display box?" and she said "no if it's not in someone's hands it's for sale." And I just instantly said I said "I'm buying it, that one there is mine, put my name on it right now." and that was that I called dibs, hopefully saved the guy from overspending for his needs by overspending on mine, but hey outside the FE it's actually the exact model that I wanted.

Not going to lie though I was pretty freaked when I say the JTC vid on EVGA FTW3 3090's exploding in games! Video, that dropped and I started watching *WHILE I WAS STARTING TO PULL MY 1080 OUT AND PUT THAT EXACT CARD IN!!!*

But I was shortly thereafter relieved when it was suspected that the most likely cause of failure was more likely due to insufficient power supply and voltage spikes going beyond the peak load of a PSU so extra happy I went back and bought a PSU upgrade, and I also have no interest in playing the game that was causing that issue anyway.

I'd actually put money on the EVGA cards failing when the power draw bounces around over the rated level then down to nothing and back. The poscaps on the EVGA cards made them more unstable than the Asus and Gigabyte designs right at launch before new driver's, good chance it's involved here too. Probably doesn't help that EVGA used really cheap thermal pads on their GDDR6X as well which would increase heat and power draw.

Other cards are having issues too, but the EVGA cards seem to have a higher fail rate.

Yeah I saw that as well, I'll be water cooling this card both front and back so not too worried about it.

My card is the newest revision with the 4 spcaps and 2 MLCC arrays and supposedly stability is no longer a problem, Roman (K|ngP|n) even replaced spcaps on an early card with mlcc arrays and confirmed his test card was more stable.

Thanks I looked more into since my post and I have put some things together I think that I figured it out.
I have looked into it some more since my post and I found on EKWB where you can punch in pc info and it makes a list for you.

    https://www.ekwb.com/custom-loop-configurator/shared/oW60f8e60ff1b25

Should I use that you think or is there better options?

Also can fit a 480 rad in front which I believe I can do cpu and gpu off of that? But not sure I want to do water loop for cpu yet it's not needed.

Keep in mind MLCC is only superior with power level changes. For long distance overclocking spcaps would be more stable anyways. It's the heat issues with varying power levels that cause issues with the cheaper spcaps, at least that's what I've read.

Either way you shouldn't have a problem. Plus talking down an EVGA fan is still impossible. Hard to argue when they're cross shipping replacement cards without charging for the cross shipped card first.

360 mm with a good pump from EK is all you will ever need. Try to use clear coolant unless you're going for a look. It's much easier to start off with than mixing or using a full solid colour fluid.

Also another question I keep seeing different answers, does it really matter if I put the rad on top or in front?

Front has access to fresh air. Top will get air that's already been warmed by your case. So front give the lowest temps. This is also why you should plumb up your radiators so that the top goes first and front second in line when using two radiators.

Yup. Complete goof there. I meant front has access to fresh air.

I swore I wouldn’t but I broke down today and bought a 6700XT, it’s a gigabyte triple fan OC card, just under $900. I also bought another 16GB of ram to go with it, now my PC will be bottlenecked by my R5 3600.

How overkill will the 6700XT be for the 3600? Mainly interested in 5760x1080 performance in MSFS.

At 1080P most cards will be bottlenecked by the CPU, however your frame rate will be so high it won’t matter. I’d hold onto the 3600 and wait to see what Ryder 6000 or Intel Alder Lake looks like and upgrade then.

My dads I7/RX580 rig died on him and he doesn’t feel like troubleshooting it so he had me order a 5600X, MoBo, RAM, Case, and PSU for him, and he’s gonna borrow my RX580 once I get the 6700XT, and take the 600 or so that he would’ve use on a GPU right now in a box and in a year (or whenever the GPU market settles down) he’ll put that into a GPU to hopefully have a VR capable rig.

Got my 6700XT and got installed along with the drivers while I started putting together dads R5 5600X rig (he’s getting my RX580 until the GPU market cools down).
Holy cow what a difference the new GPU made, my Pc doesn’t sound like it’s winding up to go into orbit now running MSFS, running 1080P on a single monitor on ultra settings I’m seeing 75+FPS.
Once I take my PC back to my house in a few weeks I’ll be able to test 1080 on a triple monitor array as well as watch my CPU, GPU, and RAM stats while flying.
