Your are very welcome. But really. Most parts houses like Autozone or the like should carry them. Personally I like the Gorilla brand.

    This is seriously hilarious.

A long long time ago I was a parts manager. Right around the time 486 was being replaced by pentium, we switched from microfiche to green screen. Yeah that company was badly behind on technology.

It is all who you know. Applies wherever you go. I have a guy at Lexus, 15 plus years. I also take my toyo there. Some things he hooks me up for free. Needed my TPMS programmed on my new rims, done and just tipped his tech. Gotta build relationships, true for a lot of situations

I agree, and I had a great parts guy at the stealership where I buy my stuff, he set me up with the wholesale cash account. Unfortunately for me ( and a bunch of other people ) but good for him, he's moved up a position within the family of dealerships that the franchise owns so he's busy overseeing multiple parts dept's. If I call there with a part number and don't get my guy on the phone, I'm doomed because right after I give them a toyota part number, the next thing I will hear is "what's the VIN number, I need to look it up".

3G 4R - probably the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. From the golden years of Toyota off-road design. I think they’ll eventually be known as one of the most capable Toyota’s out there

Very true. It’s always a good thing to know folks. Also helps to try to put yourself in someone else’s shoes once in a while when dealing with them.

Now if I could only find a parts guy who will hook me up like that…

Yep a dealer parts department isnt a Toyota parts lookup service. They just want part numbers to type in. If you dont know the #, then the vin is the only way they know that the part is correct. Not too much critical thinking goes on there for over the phone customers .
Easy enough to Google yourself , get part #’s and have the parts kid comfirm .

Very true. Most non dealer mechanic and body shop that don’t know the exact part they need, the part department sends them a diagram based on vin and tells them to look and call back
