I'm looking at getting a water softener installed and have been pricing out a few units.

Just wondering if anyone has this unit in their home?

GE Large Capacity 30,000 Grain Water Softener. model GXSF30H

Any problems with it, does it do a decent job?

    any info is appreciated :)

I got the KrystalPure unit from Lowes. Moved to a new house in central Indiana and the water would leave stains after one day in the sinks, showers, water fountain on the fridge. I went about 3 months and seen my clothes getting faded big time. Had the KrystalPure unit installed and have been totally satisfied. Lowes gave me a 10% discount also (military)

I do not have that model but I have a "Fleck" brand. I installed a in-line filter before the water even gets to the softner. This might be overkill but the one that I have installed is a clear canister and it is amazing of what that thing catches. We have city water and it needs changed about every 3 months. Just remember that it is not a good idea to water your outside plants with soft water. I re-routed the outside spigots to have hard water. Good luck!

    How large is your house?
I sell water softeners here in phx, The GE units arent bad, but there are a lot of options out there! A 30k system would be for a house that has two baths and under 1500 sqft..
