It's not, top soil averages about 1,200lbs per yard depending on soil moisture etc.

    20210708_181531.jpg

F150 with that little 3.5L motor same size as 3rd GenTacoma, trailer 3.6k, grease trap loaded on tongue 4k, extra lid 700lbs.

12k total with trailer, tractor, grapple and shredder, truck has 11.8k max tow from factory, I have added overload leaf and bags.

I went out to the shop to stew on it.

Firstly if it only happens infrequently could be something hanging up or combination of factors stacking up.

I followed the linkages from top down best I could. Nothing obvious but there are a couple suspects. Main one in the rear where on both sides hinge on a pin through a flat bar with a c shape cut. I sprayed some light lube all up in there. Hand lever action seems lighter. We will see.

    Nope.

I do plan on getting a StupidDuty, but this covid bs has the prices inflated, once the eviction restrictions are lifted on housing, the price of them come down, too many folks living off credit and huge debts.

I have ZT52, it's important not to let the seat slam back, little plastic kill switch is next to that parking brake handle.

Also if you park it on flat ground when not in use, don't even use or leave the parking brake on, the machine is very difficult to move and no reason to stretch the parking brake linkage.

What trailer is that? It looks like that bit the lid is on slides out from under the rest of the trailer so it can be used?

I see the switch, not too close to seat, but yeah I don't let it fly back.

The brake does need to be engaged (switch mentioned above) to start, so kind of pointless to not use it. There is actually nothing to stretch on my model. Rods and pivots all made of steel. Yours maybe has a cable, like a car parking brake.

To be clear this has never happened while just sitting for the days I don't use it. Only hot, only after stopping to fuel up or just get off and pick up a branch or dog shit or whatever.

    Stop.
    Disengage blade PTO.
    Drop to idle.
    Engage parking brake.
    Jump off, take a leak.
Jump back on and GD parking brake handle moves a bit then jammed in no mans land.
Try by force, nothing. Hitting something solid somewhere in linkage
Try to move, yeah not moving but moves a bit, seems to want to drive left tranny as wheel spins.
Wiggle move. Manipulate handle. Try for 5 minutes of bullshit. Sometimes dies when I get off because in run mode and seat switch.
Then frees and I can resume mowing.

I like the 2500’s not so much the 1500…. I have. I reason for it… if I had one, I’d keep buying stuff I don’t need :anonymous:

Yup, I bought what I needed in 2015, and of course the shovel kept getting bigger, now I need a larger truck for it to handle.

My neighbor offered up for me to use his 96 duramax for the few tows that I do, cause he knows I want to get a Kubota SVL75 as well, I can't buy both, SD and the SVL.

Yup, I usually do the Naughty by Nature OPP approach. Others People Property, it would require about 2 days a month to be hired out, for OPP to pay my payment, insurance and fuel, similar to what I have been doing.

I'm the operator, it's only dicey because you really need a CDL if caught on da roads and not in transit from house to farm or to dealer...

I will be home next week, I will look at my machine and take some pics for you, if you haven't already resolved the issue, sounds like something is bent.

What height do you cut at normally?
