Hopefully this wrench will be plenty good then. I’ve just heard a mix of reviews.

Would you guys buy a Cardone rebuilt PS pump for $116 with an exchange or a new OEM for $249?

Note that I have a Cardone rebuilt running for over 10 years in an Infiniti and for over 7 in a Nissan. All have been good experiences.

Can you buy new, rebuild the old, and sell it?

I can rebuild the old, but I don't know who would buy it. This one is so noisy it may not be rebuildable. I've rebuilt them when it was just new seals.

Decided to keep the Sequoia for now and get weird with it and swap/upgrade. I'll do another build later when things get closer to normal.
I stripped off the cages, bags and bits I had on it, back to stock, added a honey B17, ordered a VO Cigne stem to bring the bars up and in. Now I'm deciding on the rest...sticking with 700c and the WTB Resolutes, need new (lighter) wheels. I'd like to swap to 1x and lastly I'm going to ditch the drops and convert to what, I'm not 100% sure yet, flats or porteurs etc. And new rack up front for my camera bags. Gonna to try and get it a little more cruisey for around town and longer rides.

Funny thing, this one I inquired about popped up again but for $1k more - 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser AWD - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... (craigslist.org)

He obviously didn't sell it for $9.7k, not sure why he thinks he can ask for more.

Seller had a thick accent when we spoke over a month ago, and he couldn't tell me any history aside from "his brother in law owned it".

Clean for sure, but didn't want to waste the time to drive out and spend all day just going through the whole thing.

And uhm...this 80 series is for sale.

Love the custom bumper, went the 'budget' route -

You can carve yours and your wife's name in a hart into it. Very unique mod.

That sounds like a smart move. If you chose your parts carefully, you'll be able to move most of them over to a new frame in the future if you want.

For wheels, check out https://www.velomine.com (they also sell on ebay; http://www.ebaystores.com/Velo-Mine). The wheels tend to be "last year's model" so they might not have what you want, but the prices on what they do have can be pretty spectacular. Sometimes you can get a complete wheel set for less than the MSRP of just the hubs or rims.

What do you think of the VO Klunker (or Surly Sunrise, Whisky Milhouse, etc) bar? I have a Sunrise and think it's pretty comfortable. I prefer the look of high-rise bars over a high-rise stem for threadless steerers.

A good 1x drivetrain is amazing. It's probably the single most beneficial upgrade you can make to an older bike these days. I love the feel of my SRAM 1x11 drivetrain (mixed XO1/XX1). The trigger makes a very satisfying "click-CLICK".
