This is what a 4Runner is supposed to look like. ;)

To be fair, I keep mine pretty clean between trips. It's a lot of work, though!

What's funny is that sometimes I look at it and think the tires look plenty big. Other times I think they look small. The thing I'm sure of is that I can't afford a regear right now, so it's not going to change any time soon.

Oh there will be some mods all right
It looks great the way it is! I actually thought how good it looked in Crandon and that was before the mud tires! Also side note, the Eibach suspension is on!!! I took it on some baseline roads where I knew I was unhappy with how the Tundra rode and it passed with flying colors. The on road manners are fantastic. It's like they kept the stock ride but removed the bad parts. Compared to the "TRD tuned 6112s and 5160s on the Tacoma and the IronMan FCPs on the Frontier, this rides FAR better on road. As for off road, competent would be the right word. I don't feel invincible like I did in the Frontier ( That was a full kit including new rear leaf springs ) and compared to the Tacoma ( Lighter and had a 3 leaf AAL ) it feels only slightly less capable ( and maybe the Tacoma wasn't more capable maybe it was just the fact that I was younger and beat on it pretty hard :D )

TLDR: The Eibach Pro stage 2 kit is great, especially for the price.

This is a great write up, with real world comparisons (with suspension I've had interest in AND with vehicles I'm familiar with/debating acquiring) :D

I will say this about Tundras vs Tacomas off road.... Tundras are heavy. But they have that Clarkson factor (PPOOOWWWAAAAHHH). Having watched a Tundra slag it through Moonlight without a scratch and getting flexy on stock suspension.... I'd say they only have two limiting factors.

    They're wider than Tacos.

    They don't float (yet)

Yes they are most definitely wider lol. I used to pull my Tacoma in the garage with no hesitation just fly right on in and Park and now... I don't park in the garage :bananadead:

Nah, truck mods aren't supposed to be the latest and greatest high tech. They're supposed to be durable and reliable.

    Speaking of....

The only real issue with the tundra is the departure angle at times. Otherwise, ive been everywhere the tacos have gone without any issues. Some places in colorado i thought for sure were gonna be sketch, were totally uneventful.

Just gearing up for the August camping trip. Hopefully they don't cancel my reservation again.

How far north? I was in Bayfield this spring and it's beautiful up there!

What type of forum is that?

It’s technically about AR-15s, but 99% of the chat has little to do wit firearms. There are some amazing people there. One guy even works with supercolliders and talks about that stuff.
