Are you in the US? That wasn't even an option for me to choose from Toyota here. Are they bringing back the MT in 2022?

Thats a Canada thing only. The US gets the Sport access cab manual. For some strange reason....
And yes manual is still available for 2022

I feel for y'all that cant get good information from your dealer. I had the extreme opposite experience with mine.
I met with my salesman on 4/12 to go over the specs. for the truck I wanted. He said it might take a few weeks to find one on allocation. The next day, 4/13, he notified me that he found a truck and got it allocated to his dealership. He sent a sheet with the vehicle specs showing a 6/16 date for arrival at GST's Vehicle Processing Center. On 6/12 he sent the permanent VIN. The truck arrived at the dealer on 6/23. Abut 8 1/2 weeks from first meeting with dealer to receiving my Tacoma. I consider that really good especially considering some of the recent chip shortages and high demand. My sales guy kept in touch even when he did not have any updates. He even invited me to come drive a Tacoma with the same specs as mine, other than color, that they had received. Needless to say I am thoroughly satisfied with my salesman and experience in buying this truck. I'll also add that my salesman drove Tacomas and was extremely familiar with them and their particular options / packages. I might also add that there was no hard sell for extended warranties and such plus no unwanted add ons.

My point is, there are some really good salesmen and dealerships out their. I am in the Dallas area and would gladly give you the name of my salesman and dealership if you message me. With 2021 production winding down and certain colors and options being built out, there's probably not much they can do to find a 2021 but I would recommend them for future purchases. Good luck to everyone that is waiting for their trucks.

What tracking site is this you speak of. I asked my salesperson about this and he told me there is no way for me to see my trucks progress.

It's the Toyota "Owners" site: https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification

You can put in your temp VIN or your actual VIN and get some good info from it. When your temp VIN is no longer working on the site, it means that the truck has been built and a real VIN was assigned (you'll have to find out what the real VIN is from your dealer at that point).

I gave up ordering any vehicle years ago. Just too many variables. When I bought my current Taco (I have had three), the dealer located what I wanted, got a great deal and took delivery two days after my sales order. It is a 2019, purchased in June, 2019.

Whenever I see a Tacoma on the roads like the one I'm waiting for, I think of this scene from back to the future: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv0vo40VIWY

And in my mind I hear the line: "Check out that four by four, that is hot! Some day Jennifer... some day."

Like I’ve said before, I have a Toyota employee discount code. I actually went to my local Toyota dealership in Louisville Kentucky. I test drove a 2021 Tacoma limited in army green. It was such a nice truck, it was loaded including the hickory interior. I told the salesman that we would take it and gave him my code. He told us to have a seat and he would be back. The sales manager sat down with us and explained that he wasn’t going to sell me the truck. He said that he could make me a deal but he wasn’t going to take the discount code. So we left and found a dealership in Frankfort that would accept the code, but I had to order one. That’s the only reason I ordered my new truck.

Has anyone ordered a 2022 yet? My dealer is recommending ordering a 2022 rather than keep searching for a 2021? It's a tough call based on availability but I'm not pressed for time. As i am currently selling my Diesel and might take a little time as it is not a cheap truck.

    Hello all,

I wanted to chime in seeing as I've followed this thread extensively(since early May). Listed below is my timeline for a 2021 TRD OR DCSB, 4X4, AT, Red, w/ Premium OR Package, Advanced Technology Package, and LED. Paid MSRP.

May 10: Placed "allocation request" & $1000 deposit. Was told up front 12-16 weeks. Would NOT budge on options. Got EXACTLY what I was after.
Jun 21: Stop in, speak w/ sales manager, allocation missed the first two rounds, still not accepted. Told all is well. It was.
July 3: Received confirmation & temp VIN
July 19: Temp VIN quits working
    July 27: Take delivery

Funny thing. The temp VIN and real VIN differ enough, that there was some trickery going on. My vehicle was a "boss trade" for those in the industry that care to elaborate(I'm not sure how it works). Thats what I was told at delivery date. Didn't matter, it was from the same batch. My vehicle reads a build date of 7/21 Baja. Also told, shortly after I placed my request was when toyota sent notification to dealers to stop taking "allocation requests"(Don't know what that was about) Side note: train derailment DID effect my sales guy, customer lost similar build to me, different color. FWIW, the people I dealt with BEAT my expected delivery window, on my exact truck match, which is all that really matters! Hope this helps to those who are still waited! I know what your going through! TRUST THE PROCESS! Work with people who treat you right, have integrity, and it can be a smooth process! Only in that having PATIENCE is the hardest part!

75 days in. Last week I contacted my dealer and the lady who walk me through the ordering process replied saying they will get some allocations information this week. She will update me on what will be released.
So hopefully those allocations include my truck :/
The longer I waited, the more money I can save to down it.

I have a question and not trying to be rude. Are you getting the Army Green & Lunar Rock colors mixed up? Reason I am asking is because this is the second time I have responded to one of your post I believe. The Army Green Pro is not an option for 2021. So once again if that’s the Pro you are wanting then you will be waiting for years and years to come or them to make it a Pro color again. The only way your going to find one is a Pre Owned 2020. Unless you are getting the Trim mixed up.

Because they stopped making that truck in that color over a year ago.
