Our current house has a pool, in two months I’ve found two dead field mice in the skimmer. The last one was there long enough that the suction had ripped most of him off the bone.

I shocked the piss out of the pool after that and now check the skimmer daily.

 

Had one that spit venom in Raleigh a few weeks back. Dumbass was ordered to turn in all of his snakes along with some fines.

Got our interior-side seismic rake wall framed , blocked and sheeted today. Bit of fooling around tomorrow morning tying the truss roof sheathing into the other side of it then we can actually start in on the ridge beam and rafters

no , walls are R-28 high density fibreglass batt , unfaced

 

Im thinking of installing a power outlet in the coat closet since we keep the printer in there. We barely use it and when we do we need to use an extension cord. I can tap off the outlet in the kitchen on the other side of the wall. Think ill be fine doing that?

 

How many outlets on that circuit already? 15 or 20 amp circuit?

 

15amp. not sure on how many on that circuit

 

Eh id do it. Like you said it doesnt get used often and unless somebody is running a bunch of toasters in the kitchen idk how youd max the circuit

 

I've done such things on multiple occasions. I've even put two lights and switches in closets (and there really is only one reason there was never a light in the first place!)

Just watch for plumbing and other lines.

None of the above excludes the need for code and safety and local law compliance.

 

Cool thread, I thought I'd contribute by showing the shed my dad helped me build on weekends over the last month.

It replaced a small 9'x9' metal shed that was there when I bought the house, and it's a kind of odd size due to the need to dodge existing structures, sewage clean out, etc. Ended up being able to make it slightly less than 10'x24' with 8' at one end partitioned off as my lawn mower shed.



This was always meant to be done on a budget, but due to ridiculous lumber prices lately I went with the cheap pink studs and cheaper foam sheathing, but for what I'll use it for its plenty sufficient. Aside from still needing paint, in the future I'll keep building out shelving and I plan to insulate and seal up the building so it will hold a little cold air from a window unit in the summer as I also plan to keep my weight bench in it. It was an awesome project to do with my dad, a Carpenter of 45 years.

I also dug a small path around the back of my house last year and when I ordered rocks they gave me at least 2 yards more than I payed for so I used what was left to fill what would have otherwise been an awkward small grass patch in front of the shed. I'm going to use it to try my hand at growing some herbs and peppers, which I've never done before. Fingers crossed I don't kill it all.

 

Thanks. In keeping with my tight budget, I went with three 36"x24" windows, one on the backside to accommodate said window unit.
